Re: Champions' Cup Final

Is it just me or does that red card seem really harsh? He's bound onto the ruck, he's low to the ground and the opposition player moves just before contact. Rugby incident?

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I think that Pollard may go back to SA when his contract runs out so we need a first choice 10 the season after next. Assuming Cole only plays one more season we will need another tight head unless Heyes steps up. We have the basis of a good young side going forward if we can plug one or two gaps. ...

Re: Challenge Cup Final: Gloucester v Sharks

Need some changes in the second half. Changing the whole front row might help, though I'd have left Seb Blake on. The Glaws kicking game has had little result so far.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

If EQP is the criteria then Worboys, trying to bring home Charlie Titcombe, give McPhillips another go. I don't think there's any obvious EQP 10s available this summer. Manu Vunipola is one I'd consider. For me Shillcock has the 22 shirt when Pollard is fit, but if Pollard and Steward are both gone...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I'd go for Ben Volavola of the available 10s who seem reasonable targets from a cap perspective. Obviously Liebenberg becoming EQP may help things but we may need an EQP player If EQP is the criteria then Worboys, trying to bring home Charlie Titcombe, give McPhillips another go. I don't think ther...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Talking of potential signings, with Pollard obviously the incumbent 10 and Shillcock proving a capable deputy if required, is there a chance to take a bit more of a punt on a back up 10. Someone like Pat Pellegrini from Coventry; really good in the PRC and champ last season, late call up into the T...

Yes, there's a training squad due this weekend. Players will come in and out as the playoffs progress.

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2022

I’m not that sold on Kev tbh might get ripped to shreds on that one He brings inspiration TBF but technically I not sold I think he's a good defence coach and an excellent leader/motivator. He's not a great coach though, perhaps he will be in time. Considering the mess that is Quins defence current...

We cant wait another year!! We need a top No 8 now. Where we going to magically summon one of those from? Weise backed Beets when he could have easily been non-committal. Moving Hanro to 8 and Chessum to 6 with Hendo and Martin in the row would give us four good ball carriers. Hatherall is a solid ...

Re: Joshua Manz

Yeah his ankle injury seemed pretty nasty. He's quite lean currently but he's got a big frame and could quite easily fill out over the next couple of years and be another 6ft6 18 stone option. If he develops into a 6/8 that would be very useful for us particularly if he's got that ability at the bre...

For those that don’t know (including me :smt002 ) who are HS and JB….can you use names as am sure that there are other users thinking the same. Jordie Barrett!
:smt023
I presumed he meant Harry Simmons and Josh Bassett.

Re: Joshua Manz

Josh Manz, iirc can play across the backrow which will potentially be very handy going into next season. He's a big lad as well so a handy jumper in the backrow. I haven’t seen much of Josh Manz, can you describe what style of player he is/his strengths/similar to any previous players? I saw him pl...

Dunno he's been playing Championship Rugby for the last two years. Could be he's got himself a deal back in the Prem now he's got his EQ status back.

Re: Joshua Manz

I think Finn is big enough to play lock, and has done for us this season and not looked out of place. Its not so long ago that we weren't sure Martin was a lock, and look how that turned out! For me Martin has always been and always will be a lock. Carnduff could do with putting some bulk if he is ...

Re: Formerly of this parish

The All Blacks props headed by De Groot and Lomax are excellent scrummagers, so if Genge not fit it may be both Quins looseheads touring They are both absolutely massive. Going to be a tough job for anyone we send though they are tall so perhaps a shorter loosehead can cause some issues if they are...
