That’s correct win the group and avoid France. Likely play Georgia or Argentina thenTigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Tue Jul 04, 2023 2:24 pm So Ireland have beaten Fiji by 20 points with a TBP, so I think England win with a TBP and they go through top of the pool no matter the points difference.
Win without a TBP and they go through as best runners up I think.
Lose and they are out.

Re: U20's 6 Nations
A big chance for England to top the group, and they've really made a meal of this final quarter.
Re: U20's 6 Nations
England and Aus draw, I'm guessing that means neither go through?
Re: U20's 6 Nations
Watched the last 20 mins of that game, handling and set piece errors galore!!

Re: U20's 6 Nations
Likely we will go through as best runner up.
Only 2 draws in the history of this championship both involving England this year.
They seem to have forgot one of the fundamentals. It’s much easier to pass the ball playing into the wind than with the wind

Re: U20's 6 Nations
A very good win for Ireland in very difficult circumstances with the death of Jack Oliver’s Dad, Greig, in SA yesterday and the trauma for the St. Michael’s College contingent in the squad of the deaths in IOS, Greece of two of their classmates this week.
England could never quite shake off Australia. Their passing became more and more ragged as the 2nd half progressed. Possibly the effect of growing pressure. Still, they’re in the semi-finals and anything can happen in knock out Rugby.

Is it not through to the Quarter Finals? 4 Groups and England finish runners up in their Pool.

There are also brackets for 5th and 9th place, so everyone still gets to play.

NZ can't overturn the points differential, so I believe that's England through to play France.

The French team for the semi-final:
XV de France U20 : 15. Ferté ; 14. Moustin, 13. Depoortere, 12. Costes, 11. Attissogbe ; 10. Reus, 9. Jauneau ; 7. Jegou, 8. Gazzotti, 6. Nouchi (cap.) ; 5. Tuilagi, 4. Auradou ; 3. Affane, 2. Jouvin, 1. Penverne.
Remplaçants : 16. Lacombre, 17. Julien, 18. Duchene, 19. Liufau, 20. Castro-Ferreira, 21. Timo, 22. Carbonneau, 23. Mondinat.
Players like Jauneau and Tuilagi are already Top14 regulars and it'd be a real surprise if they get turned over by England.

France are 15 points better than any other side there so as you say it would be a huge surprise. Don’t think bad weather would help either given the size of some of those French ladsRobespierre wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 9:28 am The French team for the semi-final:
