Re: French rugby 2023/24

Grenoble win at Provence by a single point 22-23. Gopperth missed the conversion of their last try from wide on the right that would have won the game Tough, but the level of ProD2 is high. So Jimmy Gopperth, at the tender age of 41, is now unlikely to play in the Top14. George North will join Prov...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I'd be interested how much of their squad may have a sneaky English grandparent etc to be EQP... Jack Maunder the scrum half is English. Unsure if any of the rest of them are but you'd hope we'd have been putting the feelers out. A poster on the Exeter sportsnetwork board said he was already signed...

Pollard isn't moving before next summer and there's more options available next summer. Address that issue then, if it is an issue. We'd be incredibly lucky to acquire a project that is cheap in the cap but in the space of a year can develop into a top level 10. If we think Threlfall is going to be...

Re: French rugby 2023/24

Here are the results of the ProD2 playoffs: Grenoble 58 Dax 10 Béziers 33 Brive 31 (Sadly, Courtney Lawes, who'll be joining Brive next season, won't be playing in the Top14, but it should ensure that Brive will be serious contenders for promotion) So, the semi final matches will be:- Thursday May 3...

Re: Premiership Semi finals

I know some feel they shouldn’t take place and Saints should be champions etc etc etc. However they are: Friday brings us Northampton v Saracens Saturday Bath v Sale Who do posters think will win. Personally I would like to see Saints win after some of the rugby they have played and Sale after timi...

Delighted at that result.

Commentary team very Leinster biassed I thought.
But Oh dear, how sad, never mind!
Commentators down here were most impartial 😉. A deserved win, although the set scrum was too vulnerable.

Re: Challenge Cup Final: Gloucester v Sharks

Looking grim for Glaws, who are getting well and truly stuffed in the set scrum by the Springboks’ front row.

Re: French rugby 2023/24

Watched highlights of Grenoble beating Dax 58-10. Difficult over 9 minutes of highlights but Grenoble look a very good team. They would demolish anything in the English championship Yes, an emphatic win. Grenoble now play Provence in the first semi-final next Thursday evening The other play-off is ...

Top14 round 24 results from last weekend: Stade Français 22 Bordeaux/Bègles 28 Montpellier 22 Toulouse 29 (a much changed Toulouse side consign Montpellier to a one-off match at the ProD2 runner-up) Clermont 36 Castres 20 (a Clermont resurgence makes them end of season play-off contenders) Bayonne 2...

Re: French rugby 2023/24

Montpellier lost at home to what appeared to be a 2nd string Toulouse side. They must be in real danger of the relegation play off now. Wonder if George Bridge fancies a new home ? You'd still fancy them to win a playoff, but their form is dreadful. Do you know if the play off is over 2 legs No, th...
