Re: Championship Clubs Promotion

Rugby was September to end of April, they changed for reasons that were not apparent to.me, the change did not noticeably add to the gate. Rugby League changed to a mainly Summer sport without increasing gates, maybe even decreased them so I see no advantage in changing our winter sport to a summer ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Last year even after players had returned for training we were speculating on new signings and who was spotted in training photos so although I hope for some sort of squad announcement I would not be surprised if we are left in the dark for some time longer. I really would like to know who has been ...

Re: Premiership Semi finals 2024

I think Saints will.win the final. Bath undoubtedly benefited from signing players from the failing clubs, obviously they were able to do this because they were not spending up to the cap at the time, although that is not what they told their fans. Laurence playing for Bath is a different player to ...

Re: Championship Clubs Promotion

I agree but I would add that club owners, senior shareholders etc should personally guarantee wages and essential rugby expenses etc for a minimum of two seasons ahead in the Premiership.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Is it difficult for people to understand that retained players may want an increase in wages none more so than Senior Academy.players that are promoted to the men's squad or young players that have become internationals and enhanced their value. The cap cannot judged by fans simply on the grounds th...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

There was a time when I was genuinely party to inside information told to me in confidence, I never disclosed that information publicly and on occasion I was uncertain whether things I knew were confidential or not so I treated them as if they were. I do however confess that there were times when I ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I agree with Rugbygramps, this year there has been some unique circumstances and of course.a lot was new to McKellar.I have no doubt there are a few things that D.K might wish he had done differently that is what learning a new role is all about. Maybe some of the players now better understand what ...

Re: England squad for summer tour 2024 to New Zealand

Were England to select overseas players to tour with them which players based in France would be able to attend training camps and leave on tour with the rest of the party?

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Currently if Pollard is not available we have Shillcock as an able deputy, if Shillcock starts we have no experienced fly half for the bench but we do have Tom Threlfall an England Under 18 cap who was on our bench for the Black Lions game. Other than that match I have never seen the lad play but I ...

A great win for a proper rugby club. I too thought the ref harsh but actually on the whole I thought referee Carley had a good game.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

We certainly missed Anthony Allen when he had to stop playing and Many started missing most games, with Twelvetrees leaving the replacement centres were not good enough until recently. Kelly, Porter, Scott, Kata a pretty good group. Losing Scott and Porter and adding Perese is still strong but much ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I have watched most Waratahs games this season and have posted that I have seen little in Perese's game to excite me, in fact in many games he was replaced or started on the bench. Waratahs are a poor team, do not appear to be well coached and they have a lightweight pack. Today they were comprehens...

Re: Not a new kit Launch.... Tigers Together membership

Bringing 'Welsh clubs into the Premiership could work well I have said this for years. The WRU abandoned many of their clubs by forcing amalgamation into provinces, I have no doubt that had they allowed a little more time wealthy businessmen would have stepped in and old clubs like Neath, Bridgend, ...

Re: Not a new kit Launch.... Tigers Together membership

I was at the AGM and our club was definitely in favour of a bigger slice of the Premiership cake and fewer matches. Andrea was not in favour of frightening she personally felt matches would be more competitive with the jeopardy of relegation. I do not feel.I am wrong in saying that the new membershi...
