Re: 2024 Six Nations Chat
Marcus Smith and perhaps Alex Mitchell to be fit for Ireland. Can see both making the bench and SB selecting a pretty much unchanged 23.

Re: 2024 Six Nations Chat
Matthieu Jalibert will play no more part in the 6Nations, which could be a blessing in disguise. Who will replace him?
I'd go with Racing's Antoine Gibert and select clubmate Nolan Le Garrec at scrum half. Maxim Lucu has been a disappointment at scrum half. His club form with Bordeaux/Bègles has been very good, but has not taken it with him at test level.
Jonathan Danty will also miss the trip to Cardiff, so we'll maybe see BB's Nicolas Depoortère or Emile Gailleton of Pau, both of whom were recently in the U20 world cup winning squad.

If fit Mitchell will start. Care and Spencer showed how far from international standard they are at the weekend.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 7:50 pm Marcus Smith and perhaps Alex Mitchell to be fit for Ireland. France has some wonderful young centres. Not necessarily a bad thing for them to get some game time.Robespierre wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 8:21 pm Matthieu Jalibert will play no more part in the 6Nations, which could be a blessing in disguise. Who will replace him?

How come Hastoy has fallen out of favour he looked comfortable in the 10 shirt at the world cup.

Yes, he’s dropped down the pecking order but may be brought back for the trip to Cardiff, although I’d prefer Gibert.sam16111986 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 8:22 pmRobespierre wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 8:21 pm Matthieu Jalibert will play no more part in the 6Nations, which could be a blessing in disguise. I thought Mitchell was out of the tournament?
Re: 2024 Six Nations Chat
I find it constantly amazing about Care. Throughout his career, he's been great for Club, but never excelled for country other than as an impact sub to speed things up a bit. He's then a media darling for achieving that and should start the next match, which if ever he does, he plays like the slightly outclassed starter he is.
Lovely bloke mind!

Re: 2024 Six Nations Chat
Jonathan Danty has been handed a five-week ban following his red card during France's game against Italy and will miss the rest of the 6Nations, so Fabien Galthié will have to find a new outside half and a centre in his squad for the away match in Cardiff on March 10th and the home match in Lyon against England on the evening of the16th.

A bit flippant maybe, but if you put the current All Blacks 15 in white shirts with the Borthwick game plan, would they win games ?
Re: 2024 Six Nations Chat
Depends, nobody seems to be able to work out what the gameplan is!

Maybe we should give the job to Baxter
"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.
