Saw this but it was from The Ruck so unsure of its validity
Toulon have officially denied on twitter/x of ever speaking to him.

Johnny Williams as a 12 wouldn’t be a bad shout. Rumour Carre and T.Williams to Gloucester.
Why do we need another 12? We've got two international inside centres as is.

Carre would be a welcome addition given our need at LH. If both clubs are losing players might give credence to the Wainwright rumours for us.
Because Dan Kelly has not been the same since his injury. He's fallen down the pecking order a bit. Scott is old, Porter could be off and Cokanasiga is not being trusted. Cusick and Woodward are perhaps a season or two from being trusted as a 12 and 13 centre pairing in the premiership.
Dan Kelly has been putting in some solid performances for us out of position. He's not hit the highs of prior seasons but there should be no chance the club allow him out the door. He's young and talented (as much as Johnny Williams) plus Williams has had no luck with injuries over his career and shown little loyalty to the clubs he's represented.

Scott and Porter are primarily 13s that can cover. We might well need an OC but not another specialist 12, particularly as Woodward is coming through and playing regular Championship Rugby all ready.

With all the talk of centres following the Nayacalevu rumour, do we know how long Kata was signed up for?

I expect Sir Kev to go out of union altogether; a big loss.

Demoted according to DT, I find it amazing that he has been given individual skills and kicking! Kicking, when did you see kicking in RL other than goal kicking, how did he learn that skill, very strange? :smt017 :smt017

Owen Farrell to Racing is said to be a done deal. Henry Arundel must be chuffed with that news!

I don't usually believe those sort of headlines, but I did read Borthwick talking about the "legacy" Farrell has left on the England team, and I thought "he's only opting out of one tournament, he'll be back in 6 months", but maybe he's opted out of a lot more than that...

I thought the same, it did sound very final. That said, a 2 year stint in France would leave room for a return for the next World Cup if form and age permit. Not the worst move, if England are going to stick with the playing at home rule, I would be surprised if a few more whose contracts end this year or next do not take a 2 year sabbatical to France for the funds, the life and to develop their game.

Is it a telling factor that Farrell was not a director of the company set up to represent players. You would think that they would want a possible England Captain front and center. A massive reach but a possible hint that he will no be involved in international rugby.

Why not go? He's guaranteed the 10 shirt back as soon as he returns!

I would have taken Farrell at Tigers before Pollard everyday of the week. He is a natural winner with a will to win at any cost. Reminds me of the same mindset of Rugby and Tigers greatest Captain. Not in talent as Jono was world class but desire to win and willingness to play on the edge. He will be great in France and will hopefully prolong his career. Badly treated by the media because of who he is and who he plays for. Good luck to him going to France if it happens.
There is never any points for 2nd place...
