The state of Englands back line is pathetic, flat as a pancake, no guile, flair or invention, Farrell is not a centre and offers little or nothing and just confusion for whatever number 10 who he plays alongside. It’s so obvious, why cant EJ see this?
Start Arundell, start JVP, start Porter, for me Nowell is under cooked and out of form, Hill isn’t up to it, Chessum on form and skill should be in.
If England lose this test series then I really can’t believe people think EJ should remain, selection, form and results have been going down hill for to long.
Tigers changed things and hired SB and look at the change and turn of fortunes he has made, discipline, picking plays on form in the right positions and having a game plan that can be changed to accommodate the game.
Not saying SB is the man for England right now but change is!!

Re: TEAM TO SAVE EDDIES JOB
People were saying how good Tigers were and we should stick with the same coaching team when we were surviving in the Premiership by the skin of our teeth.
England changes should have been made a couple of years ago when it became clear Jones had run out of ideas.
Playing experience (Hill, Nowell, Farrell, George) simply isn’t working.
Hill has never been up to it. George is not the same player he once was. Nowell is off form and, as a winger has lost the necessary gas. Farrell is not a centre at international level. If he plays it has to be fly half.
As for Big Joe on the wing? Big and perhaps looks ok compared to the rest of the Bath side but that’s comparing him to team mates that should be about to start pre season in the championship but for Covid.
Not an England player.
So much ball and no attacking clue.

From what i see englands problem in the backs can be sorted with a ten playing ten and full time 12/13s not shoehorning like EJ has been doing.

Best all round 10 in the premiership is Farrell so play him there. If Jones is experimenting then use Smith as a finisher we keep being told it’s a 23 man game.
Re: Aus v England - 09th July 2022 - Team to save Eddies job!
I thought it for a time now, Jones is way past his sell by date but RFU will not change it as it will cost too much. To lose in such a way to 14 men says it all , come the World Cup we will not last long.

He won’t be next year when Tigers have Pollard at 10, if he is the best then why doesn’t his second dad EJ play him at 10, squeezing him in at centre just weakens Englands poor attack even more. It’s clear EJ will hug him and slot him in whenever he is fit, what form he is in, that just shows why EJ won’t move English rugby forward!!Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Sat Jul 02, 2022 4:09 pm Best all round 10 in the premiership is Farrell so play him there. his Boks shirt and that’s Brian Habanna.
The selection of Smith is down to the media in part as it was with Cipriani 10 or so years ago.
As for Lawes great player but captains are supposed to lead not stand there looking slightly confused
Re: Aus v England - 09th July 2022 - Team to save Eddies job!
From the looks of SA at the moment they need Pollard on the pitch and get some control, Wales doing a job on them at the mo, Lawes should be allowed to be the captain and Farrell should keep his nose out!!
As for the media that shouldn’t decide or make any difference to the head coaches decision, Farrell is a 10 and he should only be picked in that position, it’s either him or Smith currently, think Freddie Burns would have done a better job than both of them today!!!

If that’s your opinion then I’m pleased. Bit confused by your feeling that only the captain should say anything on the pitch and that leadership groups shouldn’t exist.baz1664 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 02, 2022 4:56 pm From the looks of SA at the moment they need Pollard on the pitch and get some control, Wales doing a job on them at the mo, Lawes should be allowed to be the captain and Farrell should keep his nose out!!

If I understand you correctly at Tigers only Genge should have spoken last season and the likes of Montoya Cole Youngs Ford should keep their own counsel or is it one rule for Farrell and one rule for everyone else.

Oh bless him if he was any sort of captain he would tell Farrell to shut up if he didn’t want his input. Can’t you speak about an England player with a bit of respect rather than resorting to your usual name calling.Scott1 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 02, 2022 4:57 pmPollard Is back next week. Strange you were watching the game when others were trying to engage you but find the time for name calling
Re: Aus v England - 09th July 2022 - Team to save Eddies job!
The captain is the voice to the team and ref, as for England it is a change of captain and one that should allow the new captain to stamp his authority on the team and show what he has got.
EJ decided to ditch Farrell as captain so that’s why Lawes should be allowed to take the reins.
As for Tigers, we are lucky to have a number of captains and vice captains who are positive influences that clearly got the amazing team of players the prem title!!

I’ve got no problems with leaders on the pitch but at times it looked like Lawes was being undermined. I get this TMA and born winner stuff but Farrell at times looks a petulant brat to me which has been highlighted many times with video compilations. He’s got great attributes but I feel he has other attributes that hold us back. And I don’t pay any attention to other players paying lip service to the fans saying “he’s a great leader” or “he’s a great player “ blah, blah, blah. The real truth always comes out further down the line when those players are no longer involved with England. I mean, what else are they supposed to say?!
