If Porter and Chessum are in the same team out there. Do you get a Possum?

Re: England Squad for down under
Porter might be in with a real shout for the starting 13 shirt.
Marchant looks class at Premiership level but hasn’t really impressed on the international stage and a midfield of Smith, Farrell, Marchant might struggle to handle the Aus centres. Even if you start Cokanasiga at 14 for some ballast, his work-rate on the kick chase is questionable.
Congrats to Guy on a well deserved call up!

Cheering on the Tigers in Detroit.
Previously a slower, shorter, less good looking version of Tom Croft.

Did you see the Barbarians game? Big Joe's workrate was very good and he chased kicks very well.No6_Flanker wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 1:39 pm Porter might be in with a real shout for the starting 13 shirt.

I think it tailed off a bit second half but I'm not sure whether it was his fitness or our tactics.Let me know what you think but it's hard to tell with how dreadful we playedNo6_Flanker wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 1:44 pmI did! But need to watch it again today for analysis. Will keep an eye out

Agreed, at least I can then watch the Premiership Final back to balance out the emotions!
Have to say it was karma that after butchering a 2 on 1 by not passing to Freeman, Cokanasiga is shown how to do it for his try and then could have had another if May passed to his left.

Congratulations to our players, but I kinda wish they would have a summers rest instead, it means we will be missing some or all of them at the start of the season.

There is a mandatory rest period after the tour which I Think is for all tourists so we are likely to be without these 6 along with Wiese, Pollard, Reffell and Montoya at the beginning of the season

Presumably no Dolly as well, Reffell won't have a mandated rest period as he isn't English.Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 7:18 pm There is a mandatory rest period after the tour which I Think is for all tourists so we are likely to be without these 6 along with Wiese, Pollard, Reffell and Montoya at the beginning of the season
(If has won a cap on tour & hasn't signed a new contract it will become complicated later unless Wales change the selection criteria)
To win is not as important as playing with style!

Bobby Bridge has done a nice article on Guy Porter, post his call up.
