Re: Team vs Saints
It’s the potential that excites me but also frustrates me because I am impatient to see what we can do ball in hand!
I get and appreciate that we are playing basic rugby building from the foundations up but when you see Steward, Henry, Nadolo, Murimurivalu, Porter, Potter, Ford, Youngs, JO, Scott etc etc showing flashes of what is yet to come it could be electric
Let’s hope Rod has some tricks in store for the Castre game just to make us that little bit more dangerous

Castres 16. SF 19 with ten minutes left and an SF red card.Ian Cant wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 7:05 pm Great spirit shown and Nadolo is one great Tiger already. Zac Henry also played exceptionally well. Hopefully we can sort the discipline as each card was correct and Barnes was brilliant reffing again.
Proud again to be a Tiger. Now let’s back it up next week v Castres who are also finding form( not seen today’s result though!)

Re: Team vs Saints
A good win that could of been more comfortable, not convinced with Wells yellow & PT it looked like Saints went to ground, Lavanini wasn't the culprit for the first, if it even was a penalty, Hanros was just dull..
Think Ribbans was just about correct as a yellow, but recently we gave had reds for that.
Nadolo seems like he really wants to make an impression & that back 3 looked impressive with minimum training together.
Potter looks an interesting signing.

To win is not as important as playing with style!

Pure speculationJimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 9:24 pmbe fair we extended our lead when down to 13 men, a decent team would have put at least 1 try on us then, but you can only play the side in front of you

Steward could be an absolute superstar. He's only 19.
Henry had a very good game and is clearly a capable starter.
Nadolo was on a mission to make a statement and its great seeing a back wanting to set the tone defensively. He looks like a real leader on the field.
Line speed and intensity in the tackle was much improved again. A great sign.
A few silly penalties and a little line out blip but it's improvement again. Showed some real character to dig in at times.
The basics are back, the fitness is much improved. The team look coherent and as if they are playing for one another. A fantastic base on which to build, we have some power in the pack to arrive and some real players in the backs to come, too. Once they arrive we can hope to see a marked improvement in attacking play but all the signs are there that's there's a foundation to work from.

Agreed. Wells did nothing wrong there. How many times do you see a referee say “last warning” ....forwards drive over and nothing is given.RagingBull wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 2:41 pmBeing real I've never seen a team punished like that really.
I'm fine with it but refs need to do it every time.
For me the wells pen try was Saints driving down towards the line not Wells bringing it down.

Love all the positivity. Love the W. Love the bragging rites.
The team is building nicely. We have players who deserve the Tiger.
However we tried really hard to loose that game towards the end of the last quarter.
We have to get the confidence to see a game out, Play in the right area and not give teams easy outs with silly pens.
Great team potential though. Some of those rib ticklers will hurt this morning. And a full week to ready for Castre.

A win over Saints is always enjoyable. OK we make a few mistakes but the hunger seems to be back and some of the tackling pretty tasty. Great to see players with smiles again. Mr Nadolo looks like he enjoys it.
I'm not cynical just experienced

Result was good as were aspects of the performance.Feet on the ground and lets not kid ourselves overly though.
Without doubt however, encouraging and grounds for optimism.

Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....
Re: Team vs Saints
Re Mr Barnes. Right call, wrong bloke (Twice) and the Saints yellow should have been a red. Didn't see much difference between that and Fazlet's to be honest.
Scrappy old game.
Our forwards could turn into something useful, if they could only stay on the pitch. The backs need match time as a unit.... Not all this chopping and changing.

We won the big one of the games where we had any chance.
Beating Saints is always important.
Some way to go yet.

Re: Team vs Saints
Important to keep our heads screwed on for next week, it is good to get the Derby win though. Couldn't watch the game but saw the highlights, what was Lavanini's yellow card for? Also Leatigaga was being a bit silly but was well handled in the end by Barnes and Gengey (although I suspect the former, like Austin, was more worried about his car!).
