Re: Geordie’s Mid-Season Review
The positive spin on this interview smacks of pure damage limitation, and in PR terms it's simply a crisis management exercise to deflect the negativity until Borthwick arrives.
The opening question is "you've won 4 drawn 1 in the Premiership, pass or fail at this point?" - no mention of the 8 losses!
Murphy's response to this appalling season so far is "it's a very difficult question, i think it's a fail". Not a difficult question and there's no 'thinking' - IT IS a fail.
Murphy then says "we've lost some games we should've won, we've come away without points when we should have", once again deflecting the reality of us not being good enough to beat even London Irish amongst others. The rest of the interview is a barrage of the same old "working hard" and "must get better" rhetoric and stating the obvious.
To Murphy's (rhetorical) credit, he can talk the hind leg off a donkey generally avoiding a direct answer, tick all the boxes re positivity but as for pinpointing anything that isn't the same issues most squads deal with season after season, there is nothing in this 24 minutes that is anywhere near an insight into the real causes and the real solutions.
If i had a quid for every time Murphy says 'tough' in this interview then i'd probably have enough to renew my season ticket.

Re: Geordie’s Mid-Season Review
I suspect the title should be amended to Geordie's end of season review
In my defence, I was left unsupervised….
Re: Geordie’s Mid-Season Review
Unfortunately so Loretta, I assume it was recorded before the announcement of league suspension due to COVID-19 was made.

But it won't be the end of this clowns coaching career. Unfortunately.. He would however make full on comedic rugby TV commentator

He's moving out of coaching to a DOR role.
Re: Geordie’s Mid-Season Review
Can't we amend it a bit further to: Review of season, end of Geordan...
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.
Re: Geordie’s Mid-Season Review
Geordie when calmly reflecting nearly always talks sense in my opinion.
I watched a footie programme last night in which Brian Clough was asked what it took to be successful and he replied good players.

Just more of the same old blarney.
Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity
