Behind try line coaching
We were at the game last night and I just fast forwarded through the BT coverage - for our second try at around 15 minutes where we had forwards driving for the line, I spotted one of the Exeter coach’s (water boys!) directly behind the play clearly marshalling the defence - can’t remember seeing this so blatantly before - is it allowed?
Re: Behind try line coaching
I would say no, certainly is not allowed at junior level, but unsure.
Obviously ok during breaks and after scores but not during play

It was Ricky Pellow - who is far from a water boy. He's their skills coach and tends to coach the 7s and also ran the side in the cup last season

Re: Behind try line coaching
I took my dad to the Bristol V Glaws game last night and it was exactly the same with the water boy directing traffic and giving instructions. Guess they all do it as he was getting signals from the bench the whole game and relaying then.
There is never any points for 2nd place...

Wasn’t he in Wet Wet Wet? If so, how appropriate that he’s now a water boy.longlivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2019 2:18 pm It was Ricky Pellow - who is far from a water boy. He's their skills coach and tends to coach the 7s and also ran the side in the cup last season
