Was Cockers than man to take us forward? Probably not.

Was Cockers the man just about holding us together? I starting to think so.

No RC should have gone at least five years ago. There are mixed messages about AMs
abilities but clearly it was right to give him until the end of the season to stake
his claim.
As bad as it was today, and it was bad, it would have been no better under RC.
I hope, for the sake of our great club, that AM does turn it around but if it
doesn't then we have the pick of the world's coaches to replace him.

First thing to do is to pick an inspirational captain and vice captain.
Who, I couldn't say but it certainly shouldn't be OTY.

Never have I seen a Tigers team with so little fire. From the word go the players didn't look into it. A professional embarrassment.

We had some shocking performances under Cockers. But I would say we had our moments in those games where it looked like we gave it a crack. However short lived, and however poor our general play was. Against Racing, and especially tonight, I saw nothing. Dead inside.

And never at Welford Road. Never.

I don't think Cockers would have let a performance with so little fire happen.

Is it the coach or the captain on the field??
Heads dropped after first try awarded!

Leadership is lacking all over the club.

I also said before Mauger stepped foot in the club that he won't be the answer to what we are looking for. Mauger has done nothing whilst he has been Head Coach. What made the board decide he was the man to guide us through the remainder of the season, I have no idea!
IMO the rot is longer than that but it is firmly the board at fault - see my post on the 'thank the board' thread.

It means the problems run deep. The best coach in the world wouldn't turn us around. Fundamental changes need to happen.

At the risk of repeating myself a good example of organisational failure and the predictable sacking of a senior manager rather than the executive who is ultimately responsible for that organisation

Player power generally gets you nowhere as Leicester Tigers are finding out. You have to ask why they wanted the softer option.

No but they should have sacked Cockerill at the end of the 14/15 season. Mauger can hardly be blamed as he is still fairly new to the role but he should not be made DOR. It needs somebody with lets say "Gravitas" in that role. Two of the South African coaches already mentioned would be ideal.and there needs to be a generational gap between the new DoR and the current crop of players, We also need to review our training schedules and practices as I'm convinced that they may be contributing in some way to our horrendous injury list.

Simple, they didn't like being told they had to extract their collective digits in straight language, and being made to work kard for it, much easier to stay 'stick with my new systems' especially if they don't involve beastings on a Tuesday.
