Departure of Cockerill
Thank you Richard for all you have done. Your enthusiasm and commitment was always appreciated.

Thanks for saving the club when the board made.Shiite appointments and being the heart and soul of the club for so long.

Re: Cockers out
Yesterday's performance against Sarries was reasonable so would expect decision was already made before last weekend, perhaps the board were just waiting for a ping back from there top two or three candidates that they are up for challenge as our new DoR before making the chop.
Re: Cockers out
Here we go then! The dawn of a new era. Personally I thought more performances like yesterday would have been enough for him to keep his job......but apparently not. Deano revisited?
"The change, it had to come
We knew it all along
We were liberated from the fold, that's all
And the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they are flown in the next war
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again, no, no"

I agree it's sad. He's a Tiger through and through and thanks are due for some fabulous years.

Re: Departure of Cockerill
Right decision and overdue. I hope Cockerill is still a part of the Tigers structure somewhere, enthusiasm and passion will always be a key part of any club and squad. We need a DoR who can convert that passion into the cohesion amongst the players in the way that EJ has done for England. The talent is there, the cohesion with consistency is not.
Re: Departure of Cockerill
Good luck to RC and thanks for fronting up as both player and coach.
Re: Departure of Cockerill
Overall probably the inevitable decision but sad to see a stalwart of Tigers leaving. Dignified to the end
Thank you Richard for your years of Service as a player, coach & DOR

Re: Departure of Cockerill
The board, again, have got it wrong. The man who should fall on his sword is the CEO. He is the poison in our club, and is the reason why we have our hands tied behind our backs with regard to recruitment, and the loss of so many players who seem to have done well elsewhere!
We were certain that something was on the cards when the chairman trudged across the pitch after the game!

Re: Departure of Cockerill
I echo pipkois sentiments, but believe the time had come for a change. A lack of consistency and commitment on the pitch had been going on for too long, and the coaching team was unable to successfully address the issues, for which Cockers had ultimate responsibility.
Valhalla I am coming!
Re: Departure of Cockerill
A sad end to a long and distinguished career at Tigers but unfortunately it's a results orientated Business and sooner or later this had to happen.
All credit to him for all he's achieved thus far and good luck for the future.

Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.
