Some of us did try to indicate that this was the case. The Club, from the Executive Chairman down are unable or unwilling to cater for the needs of the average punter. They are only interested in Corporates.

Re: Catering & Bar Feedback - Season 2015/16
ohhh a fair few years ago now I went to see Sale Sharks vs London Irish in Sale's old ground (in Altringham?) There were....aesthetically pleasing ladies...walking round with beer rucksacks (for want of their real name!) that:
a) contained a decent pint (Heineken if i remember correctly)
b) wasn't £4 a pint
c) was cold and fresh - none of this prepoured rubbish.
And that was years ago. And it was Sale! My point being - other clubs don't find it hard to offer decent beer at decent prices in a friendly and competent manner - why is this such an issue for Tigers? How can they constantly be getting it so wrong?!

Beer and Rugby are more or less synonymous.

For what it's worth, pre-pouring should be the way to go. There was allegedly a commitment to doing this at one point. If it is done properly (yes I know....) the beer shouldn't be standing there for more than a few minutes anyway. Get one of the brains trust to continuously pour (shouldn't be hard), one to take order and money (shouldn't be hard) and one to collect correct order and hand over (shouldn't be hard).
Alas, our bar staff are insufficiently trained, and not trained properly.

Regards getting the beer out of the barrels and into glasses in a timely and speedy fashion - interesting gizmo at the Millennium Stadium (no doubt they have them elsewhere but not at Welford Road): a 6 nozzle dispenser each for lager, bitter and stout, each dispenser pouring 6 pints at the same time, tilting mechanism ensures low froth and good head. Pardon the expression. In the time it takes staff at WR to pour 1 pint these things can push out 18. Okay, 3 pints against 18, but theres a moral there eh.

Re: Catering & Bar Feedback - Season 2015/16
We went to watch England v Wales at the fan zone at the Olympic Stadium and they had the same gizmo in operation. Worked well, staff knew what they were doing (presumably agency staff) and kept all the punters, as far as I could tell, happy. They also had card payments going through as well, which didn't seem to slow service up any, which is one thing that Tigers don't (to the best of my knowledge) take in the normal 'outside' barsBirstallBrian wrote:Regards getting the beer out of the barrels and into glasses in a timely and speedy fashion - interesting gizmo at the Millennium Stadium (no doubt they have them elsewhere but not at Welford Road): a 6 nozzle dispenser each for lager, bitter and stout, each dispenser pouring 6 pints at the same time, tilting mechanism ensures low froth and good head. at the walkers on sunday they were taking contactless card payments- faster than cash, and not many rounds are over £30 I wouldnt have thought..!
No Guinness in the ABC!
Why not?
No Strongbow next door. What is going on?
This is a rugby related post. Our traditional match day start is defiled!

Re: No Guinness in the ABC!
Take a look at the catering thread. You can get Guinness, allegedly, from the bar to the left of the ABC - in the ABC it's Guinness substitute Pitch Black, which is the same price as Guinness last seasonfleabane wrote:Yes! Why no riots previously? Indifference?
Re: No Guinness in the ABC!
Pitch Black tastes like pitch, and is black, so adequately named.
I have gone to the ABC since I first came to Tigers (excepting school visits in the 60s), and am hugely disappointed and quite upset by this.
I would like to hear a reasoned explanation for the change or I will be having my Guinness on the way to the ground from now on - might as well totally change the ritual.

Couldn't care less!
I drink at a pub, keg beer is an abomination and should be avoided at all costs.
I eat at a caff/restaurant/pub.
I watch rugby at WR/on the telly.
No need to over-complicate things.

In my defence, I was left unsupervised….
