Health reasons. Staying on the board and still majority shareholders - so not a big deal for me...
Re: Barwell steps down at Saints
Never claimed it to be a big deal...just thought it an interesting rugby development.
Re: Barwell steps down at Saints
Chairmanship now passes outside immediate family, but new person will really be under the family microscope!

Re: Barwell steps down at Saints
Leon Barwell is a good man and has done well filling the large boots of his Father.
He's also very young (mid 40's) and I understand he has been battling cancer, so a little respect and sympathy might be more appropriate on this thread.

R.I.P to a rugby man, condolences to his family.

What an appalling thing at such an age, and the worst possible thing for a parent to have an offspring predecease them.
My heartfelt condolences to all his family.

Having had a son in the front line in Afghanistan for a total of 18 months, I have an inkling of the fears of loss a parent can have. Alas for Mr Barwell all did not turn out well. Awfully sad.fleabane wrote:What an appalling thing at such an age, and the worst possible thing for a parent to have an offspring predecease them.

Of course this is my own opinion and other posters may have a different perceived factual viewpoint.
