Silly me. I dreamed to expect that the cream of Welsh and French Rugby would play free flowing expansive rugby rather than concentrating on preventing fair release, diving over the top, coming in from the side and lying offside - all mostly undetected by the referee.Darc Tiger wrote:What did you expect?

Re: Ping pong in Cardiff
Over the years I have often heard my husband complaining about the ref when the Tigers are playing, mostly during the scrums.
(I think it's ex-front row syndrome.)
It was very odd to hear it when the Tigers were not involved

Re: Ping pong in Cardiff
Just supposing.......
When a scrum collapses and the ref deems that one side is to blame, a black mark is issued against the offending side (by the TV wallers, as the ref has enough to do).
When the scrum collapses and the ref isn't quite sure who was at fault, and just needs to re-set it, then a black mark goes to both teams.
At the end of the season, the teams with the most black marks get massive fines (after all, this is pretty dangerous play), whilst the teams with the least black marks get a couple of bonus points.
I think this might end the shenanigans.

Kicks and scrums and ruck and roll.....Is all my brain and body need!
