You could try the Caley Sample rooms... that's where I will be. twenty minute walk to the ground however.... but the one bonus is it serves real ale from the Caley Brewery right next to it...
Those who like real ale.... Deuchars and Caley 80 will be well in?!

Suggest you start at the top end of Princes Street (Waverley Station end) and pub crawl down to Haymarket and then jump on a bus to Murrayfield.
If you do that the Cafe Royal is a cracking bar at the Waverley end and the Oxford Bar (Inspector Rebus's watering hole) is further down followed by the Cambridge (all behind Princes Street).

I think I will be Cafe Royal at 1.30pm latest!

The Murrayfield Lodge is just over the road from the ground but judging how full it was before our HC game against Edinburgh the other year I would it expect it to be heaving on Saturday but as I say it is literally just over the road so it could suffice as a last stop pre game.

I like the Three Sisters on Cowgate, its about a 20 minute walk from Murrayfield. Its a superb pub/bar, usually quite popular on a matchday!
#48 FTW :)

The Roseburns the place to go for the atmosphere,but not if you're thirsty,can be hell to get served.
Might be in the Murrayfield Wanderers bar at the back of the ground,cheap beer,but not real ale.

Any excuse;

That Haymarket place is alright, cheap if i remember right (though its been a couple of years), though was busy enough on Scotland v Italy day, let alone Saturday!

Thats Three Sisters, you could walk the route back to the stadium in virtual reality if you like :)

I'd stay clear of Haymarket if I was you.... Tram works going on and it's a pain to get anywhere around there without getting ran over or lungs full of dust!
And Three Sisters is :censored: miles away

I posted this on a different thread but fits here too
I would like to invite all supporters that are travelling to Murrayfield to join us and enjoy our hospitality at Murrayfield Wanderers clubhouse next to the stadium. We are located behind the west stand and entry is via gate B
All welcome and the beer is cheaper than the stadium!!
