Midweek game against Saints is annoying. At least it preceeds the Cup game, so we would more than likely field a second string in that.

Is that the same for all clubs?

Currently we have home clashes with city for;
Tigers -> City
London Irish -> Millwall
London Wasps -> Hartlepool
Heineken R1 -> Yeovil
EDF R2 -> Northampton (town not saints!)
EDF R3 -> Bristol Rovers
Heineken R3 -> Southend
Newcastle -> Peterborough
Heineken R6 -> Huddersfield
Gloucester -> Cheltenham
Saracens -> Colchester
Sale -> Carlisle
Bristol -> Scunthorpe (both last home games of the season)

I make that 7 clashes, plus another possible 5 depending on edf/heineken fixtures. Any guess whose gonna have to play on the fri night/sun?!?!?!?! :smt002

All Clubs are scheduled to play on the Wednesday.

An advantage to the clubs that have Friday games. Perhaps Tigers should have a Friday to give maximum rest / recovery time.

As City have now dropped down a league the chance of crowd trouble has reduced so both sides may be able to play on the same date (as in fact they have occasionally done in the past.

Should the police request that one team move their fixture then I expect that they will adopt the policy that they have used in the past: Tigers change one instance, City change the next, then Tigers, then City etc.

Season starts a week earlier than last year, plus the 1st October fixture.

I'm glad they had the sense to slip the mid-week game in early in the season.

A few more cold sinks in Wycombe and/or breezy weekends in Gosforth and the end of the season gets congested as it is!

I'm guessing this is so all Premiership players are available, fully refreshed :smt002 for the Lions tour :smt023

Congratulations to the powers that be. With 3pm Saturday KOs, there are only 7/11 clashes with the City, plus potential clashes with EDF and Heineken TBC. I don't know if priority changes with City's drop to League One, but someone somewhere is taking the proverbial.

Forest's experience of Div 3 was that crowds held up reasonably well (20,000 average) but the number of visiting away fans was hugely diminished.

I expect the Foxes to experience much the same thing.

Therefore, clashes with Leicester City really need to be avoided because of traffic congestion, even though there is likely to be very little trouble.

Even Millwall can't be bothered to cause trouble these days, though the Peterborough fans may come armed with pitchforks.

There aren't ANY Friday night fixtures confirmed yet as all games (except the 1st October match) are still listed as "weekend of...".

ie Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Does anyone know when the early matches will be confirmed - that is, confirmed as to which day they'll be on (as far as that's possible, allowing for Murdoch and the polis)? I don't want to book up tickets for a match thinking it'll be a Saturday, only to find it shifts to Sunday (pain but do-able) or Friday (not on).
