Leicester v Newport - Predictions Please

Post by tigermad »

Leicester take on Newport Gwent Dragons in the EDF Energy Cup and look to build on the win at Harlequins last weekend. Good to see John Murphy getting another start in the side and a return for Tuilagi and Leon on the wings. Should be a good game. Any predictions on the score guys?

I think Leicester will win on Saturday but i believe that it will be really close.

How about 32-20 that sounds about right.

Jonny Murphy and Jordan Crane to score.

C'mon tigers.

I got the Quins result right (1st correct prediction all season). So I am on a bit of a roll  Although not a 1st choice team for LT by any means. It still looks a strong side. It will be close as Newport are no mugs but I just feel LT should edge it with home advantage. Not to mention 4 Irish lads in the starting line up including the Capt & 2 in the replacements.

Welcome Dragons Eye, wouldn't expect to say anything else  From what we've seen this season Tigs could turn up and hammer anyone. They could also not turn up and nearly lose. Tell you what I'll stick my neck out and go for the middle ground 24-15 to Tigers

Tigers v Dragons

Agree with what you say GS about Tigers. Hope they turn up. If so think they will win 35 - 17. Would feel happier if Humphreys was at 10 though given he appears to be the man in from at the moment.
Tigers for the premiership and European Cup. Get behind the team and make some noise!!

Humphreys is on the bench, it's quite conceivable, if not likely, that he will get on as a sub in the second half.

As usual I shall predict a Tigers win. They were Cr_P last weekend
but only stupid people write off tigers!

However, I won't as is my habit, predict a large win. Lets face it, this
is not our first team and the Magners league is not taken seriously by
anyone so the Welsh will put more emphasis when competing with us
and the French in EDF and Heineken cups.

Its going to be close, 22-16 to us, with Humphries hopefully
coming on with enough time to impact the game :D
Sorry in adavance to the Paul Burke fan club lol!

Paul Burke fan club - that must be the couple I saw in the phone box down the road having their AGM

Seriously, lets give him a chance, evryone was cr@p last weekend. But I hope Humpreys gets a go, he really worked for it on Monday.

Another nail biter I fear - but Tigers to scrape home. Please prove me wrong chaps - I would like to see a demolition job done on the Dragons akin to Ospreys v Glaws!

Tigers are so up and down, who knows how well they will play ?

Dragons are much more predictable; they will play out of their skins, tackle anything that moves and hope to 'dog' it out. However, IMO, they are limited.

Tigers should win by at least 3 scores .......... but no idea if they will.

I reckon dragons by a couple. The Tigers team is not great, and the Dragons will want it far more.

Tigers easy. Dragons haven't got a strong enough side. Someone needs to take control on the field though and direct the game.
