Re: Leicester Tigers Women 2023/24 - Vicky Macqueen in 'The Magnificent Fifteen'
Why do people always jump to thinking it’s money difficulties? Probably because Tigers have lost 14-15 players from the beginning of the season and have only signed 3 to date. Of the leavers it’s more like 9 that weren’t stop gap signings or senior academy to begin with. And of those 9, 4 are prob ...

Re: Premiership Semi finals 2024
Getting the Worcester redundancies and paying Russell a packet has paid off. Could this be the only final where I've wanted both sides to lose?

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)
Think McKellar was dealt a poor hand, and both attack and S&C seemed a significant downturn from the previous regime. Two or three close results went the other way, we'd be in the playoffs. That's not anywhere near as bad as some think, just not brilliant. I'm more concerned about the ladies tea...

Same height as both Kiwi loosheads If he becomes as good as De Groot and Williams we’ll all be happy. Agree about the ball carrying also important to have a quality bench replacement as these huge guys rarely last past 55 minutes I feel props in general should be changed then regardless Our scrum u...

Re: Dan Mckellar
Really should be an Aled Walters thread. I have ad nauseam pointed out that SB wasn't the loss, it was AW. Players who are megafit don't knock on, they reach those passes, hit those gaps, make those tackles etc., and win games in the last quarter. For various reasons we have become adept at losing, ...

Aled Walters. Gave us the stamina to grind teams down and win in the last quarter. It's not the players, it's the coaching.

Re: 23/24 Injury/Suspension/Absent International List
Different refs have their own lines the players shouldn't cross, which is understandable. Where it gets annoying to this viewer, especially given you can't hear everything that's said, is when a ref says "I don't want to hear from you again" and then remains all chummy with the other team...

Re: Craze for alternative club names
I agree. If your club has history don't meddle. If your club has no history nobody gives a monkeys because it has no association with the team. Who on earth gave the sharks handle to Sale? Doubt many get up the ship canal! Sharks up the ship(t) canal? Even they would turn back. (from a natal Manky).

I though we lost it once we replaced the front row. The scrum started to go in reverse, Cronin had been tackling Genge all day, and while we had Bristol on their knees at 60 mins, we were out of it by 70. They brought on two fast guys in Lahiff and Thacker, both who like broken field.

Re: Tigers v Bristol (H) - Premiership - Saturday 27th April 2024 - KO: 15-00
I'm not inclined to blame the head coach for everything that happens on the pitch, but I can't imagine for a second that anyone's immediate instinct is to kick away posession from the opposition half like that unless it's an attacking grubber kick or chip ahead for a runner coming through at pace. ...

Agree with RaginBull. So now let’s put it right v Exeter and Sale starting by trusting some of the youngsters like Carnduff, Vanes, FFT etc. into the squad or be really brave and put Cole, Montoya and Wiese on the bench especially if Heyes is fit! As for fitness: it’s an odd one as vLeinster and Ne...

Re: Doom and Gloom
The fitness, or lack of it, is interesting. Yesterday, I was impressed by the speed of all of our players getting back to their feet and into position when defending - snuffing out Bristol attacks, and I thought at the time, how tiring that looked. The bench just did not bring the same levels of en...
