Re: Thoughts on England v Argentina...

If Wilko is so good at game management and getting the team in the right parts of the pitch, especially when the ball is slow, why did Argentina spend more time in our 22 than we did in theirs? I'm pretty shocked to see Lawes cited for that challenge, I really can't see how it was anything other tha...

Re: Potential Haskell Suspension

"England manager Martin Johnson may now face calls for Haskell, 26, to be suspended from the team" So the Mail is speculating that someone might want Johnson to suspend him. No suggestion that there is actually any specific person or group calling for this, or that there is any likelihood ...

Re: Thoughts on England v Argentina...

It means he knows what is needed and when, he takes the best option 9/10. And he does keep the score board ticking over, he doesnt hesitate, as soon as the ball slows down, he takes the points before the ball is completely on the backfoot or turned over and we lose any oppurtunity for points. So ga...

Re: Thoughts on England v Argentina...

im suprised by the comments about jonny - he was the form fly half going into the game, played much better than flood in the warm up games and has been in good form for toulon - jonny played for a poor newcastle side when he was excellent so the fact that toulon didnt finish in the top six is neith...

Re: London Wasps v Leicester

Hard to imagine Tigers winning this one, based on results last weekend.

Wasps to win by 10+ points.

Re: Thoughts on England v Argentina...

In my opinion, it's not Jonny's bad day with the boot that means he shouldn't be starting. It's the fact that even when he is kicking well, he offers very little else. He might have passed a lot, but it was always from a deep position, well behind the gainline. When was the last time the England bac...

Re: Thoughts on England v Argentina...

On another negative note (sorry) but Lawes is very lucky not to have been carded, one nasty off the ball tackle and then, a few moments later, what I perceived to be a deliberate knee in the head of a tackled player - the citing commissioner awaits! I have to disagree on this, if you're referring t...

Re: Thoughts on England v Argentina...

I stand to be corrected here, but I'm sure Lawrence didn't even 'warn' them, he merely told the captain to talk to his players, whereas he actually 'warned' Tindall about Englands pernalty count. I think you are right there. The think that particularly made me laugh about the blockers in the maul p...

Thoughts on England v Argentina...

How is it that Rugby Union refereeing gets worse every year? England conceded 11 penalties, for which they were warned numerous times, and given a yellow card. Argentina conceded 16 penalties (including a high tackle and 2 dangerous tackles), and were given one warning. The yellow card eventually ca...

I live in Bath, and will be looking to do the same thing.

I'm going to ask around a few pubs next week, and I'll post my findings here.

Re: What are your expectations?

Lots of good answers. Playing devils advocate, I have a question for those who think we should win silverware every year. There are 2 major trophies on offer each season (HC and Prem), each with at least 4 or 5 teams realistically aiming to win. What is it about Tigers that gives us reason to expect...

Re: What are your expectations?

I think you've misunderstood. I'm not asking how well you think we will do, but how well you think we should do - what constitutes a satisfactory season, not just this year, but every year.

What are your expectations?

I'm new to this forum, and slightly surprised by the expectations some people seem to have for the club. Having been a Tigers fan for many years, I'm proud of the clubs fantastic history amd expect the team to challenge for silverware every season. However, I am realistic in that I realise there are...

Re: Where we're going wrong......

Personally... I think the team was rubbish last week. I hope it improves. Seems to me that a Tigers 2nd/3rd team with youth players on the bench did pretty well to come close to beating a near full strength Exeter team many are tipping to challenge for the top 6. So our 18-year old fly half with vi...
