Re: Stains win..

As certain as if night follows day, and O'Connor has been alleged to say it, if the Irish provinces had to compete in the AP with their normal squads, week in week out, they wouldnt win it..... So no, they wouldnt have a prayer in the Heineken either. Did the bulk of this Leinster team not play 3 I...

Re: Heineken cup final

Ozwaldcopperpot wrote the 4 Irish clubs have all been playing for around 125 years each, that's not long enough for some it seems. Leinster having already won the league, are going for the double this weekend in the play-off final, it's not just about games in Europe people. anyone thinking that Le...

Re: ERC display of crass stupidity

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/16741366.stm Heineken Cup organisers turned down Ulster's request that their quarter-final with Munster should not be played on Easter Sunday . Excellent work. Ireland, a nation of mainly Catholics, for whom Easter Sunday is the pinnacle of their faith ye...

... Don't forget that we inflicted your worst ever Heineken beating 33-0 & as the saying goes, you were lucky to get NIL.... And I was at Welford Road for the return!! 49 - 7|!! Ahem, You're playing at Ravenhill at the weekend. Forget about Welford road, your team is coming to the 'Hell' (as Cl...

Re: Tigers v Ulster - Friday 13th

Seriously up for this match and I hope Ulster are too, we've a great ball carrying pack and personally a very underrated backline. From our last match in Welford road, up front we'll have the very impressive John Afoa in at tighthead. Our scrum has been class with him at TH. In the backs we've some ...

I am surprised that the WRU haven't done this too.
The WRU don't own their regions whereas the IRFU own the provinces.

Re: IRFU to restrict player imports - is this good?

Coo- er missus! Bit draconian. Only one foreign player per position so only 15 foreign players in the whole of Ireland??????? Connacht might be a little offended that you've forgotten about them. That still potentially leaves up to 5 non-Irish players per province for M/U/L which is more than the W...

Re: Can we get 10 points from last 2 Heineken Cup games

As has been discussed on numerous other threads, the cream of Tigers players will be scrapping it out week after week in the muck and bullets against Worcester, Sale and Wasps before recuperating for the vital Ulster match. Ulster, on the other hand, are playng for sweet FA in their Mickey Mouse Le...

Re: Croft - Learnt a lot on Saturday

Ferris has one of his poorer games, although he still never got run over. He did make a mess of a couple of backs moves including conceding a penalty in the Tigers 22 for crossing. He failed to offer much in the outside channels as he tends to crab sideways before straightening. Let's face it, on t...

After the Lions tour was over McGeehan said Ferris was a shoe in for the Lions 6 jersey if he stayed fit.

Re: Croft - Learnt a lot on Saturday

Wow some people are feeling negative. Struggling to think of the last time Croft played well? How about the barnstorming performance against Sale? His performance against Ulster was rather quiet and he did miss a couple of tackles but he excelled in the lineout and put his body into everything. His...
