I suspect our dislike of the league play offs deciding the champions probably dates back to the season that they brought in the play offs. After Tigers had run away with the league, they announced the play offs mid season.
At least we now the league is just a qualifying competition these days.

Well, they have had the national side beaten by a French Club.Robespierre wrote: ↑Sat May 25, 2024 3:22 pm Don’t you just live to hear the sound of disgruntled Leinster supporters!

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)
There's a difference between signing a once top level player who is perhaps past his best and signing a 30 something never was. The former can contribute the benefit of top level experience as a sort of informal player coach. That's different to the input someone who hasn't played at the top level a...

Doesn’t a time period have to pass if you have become tied to one nation before changing even if you qualify by ancestors or residency etc.

Re: Hanro on Englands Radar.
England need 3 locks. As Itoje, Martin and Chessum are all quality, why does everyone assume that Itoje will be the automatic starter? It’s not about who played the last game, it’s about the best pair for the next game and just because one or other has been around longer, that shouldn’t be a conside...

Re: Please get behind your team v Exeter
A ref at either side of the scrum wold help. Given the touch judges are res why not get the one nearest to come closer and actively call the scrum. At the weekend Painter released his bind and flopped on his ample belly long before Tigers were pinged on the ref's side for pulling it down. The shenan...

I have more of an issue with Glaws Lion - looks like the Tigers one with the stripes rubbed out!

Re: Please get behind your team v Exeter
The ref let Exeter come in from the side at several rucks. But Wiese still can’t remove the player and drop him head first. Clear red and unnecessary but probably wouldn’t have happened if the ref had awarded an offside penalty or called advantage. I still don’t understand why we were not awarded a ...

Re: Dan Mckellar
Fitness/conditioning has to be individual. What works for a scrum half is unlikely to be relevant to a prop. The pre match warm up is not the place to do conditioning work. That’s done over the season and the pre season. Why the marked tail off after the 6N? Clearly some of our international players...

Re: Dan Mckellar
You don't need an intense 1 hour warm up before a match.
Stretch, warm up, run through a few drills to get the handling right for the conditions. We have reverted to the Cockers era of an excessive warm up and making it a 2 hour 40 minute match.

Re: Injury dispensation
I agree that bringing in a wing might not have been a big leap but playing Steward and Brown on the wing was hardly a success.
Do players have to be out for 3 months if the injury takes them past the end of season like Simmons and presumably Bassett & Watson?

Injury dispensation
Given we have had a few players that have long term injuries, did we not bring in replacements. I can understand that we had enough locks when Henderson injured his knee but wing is more puzzling with no sign of Watson, Porter, Bassett and Simmons for ages. Are we in financial trouble? Or just accep...

Re: Law changes coming in to effect 1st July
The simple solution to caterpillar rucks is to that once a maul has formed, any player joining must bind onto 2 players in front of him. At a stroke, the caterpillar requires twice as many players to resource its extension. And enforce the 5 seconds to use it. Saw it happen in the ladies 6N but neve...

Re: Law changes coming in to effect 1st July
Injury, bootlace undone or dodgy contact lens at the line-out, yes. No re-scrum from free-kick? I agree with Samhorace. Protection of the 9 should be extended to the ridiculous amount of harassing that some are getting at the scrum. Agree. Neither scrum half permitted beyond the ball and contact wi...

An employee being suspended for the investigation of an alleged incident does not prevent the employer from bringing in someone else to carry out those roles. It can’t be seen to affect the outcome of the disciplinary process and if the disciplinary process does not result in dismissal or resignatio...
