Re: England squad for summer tour

Kelly's return to form deserved a spot in the squad. A missed opportunity for England's future. I was definitely hoping both him and Ollie Haskell Collins would get called into the squad, if nothing else to keep them from thinking of swapping nations, seems a waste for not only us but also England ...

Re: England squad for summer tour 2024 to New Zealand

Charlie Atkinson is a bit of a shock! Has he even played much this year? Was Borthwick responsible for his signing at Tigers? With Ford and F Smith involved in the playoffs he probably is next in line if they wanted 2 fly halfs for training I suppose there isn't much depth at 10 in England these da...

Re: England squad for summer tour

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/articles/cn00g5n38z1o " Props Dan Cole and Joe Marler are available for this summer's Tests but will not link up with England until the next camp on 4 June. " Seems your suspicion may not be correct. Absolutely honestly didn’t think he’d go that way...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I heard we had spent up, unless we exit someone, no other significant signings - that’s why he must have a plan, probably academy promotions. I've heard the same but slightly differently. That we have/are spending up to the cap but have not finished announcing all signings yet. I'll also add that W...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Starting at wing also Great try, comes off his wing attacks the line out wide and passes a lovely ball to the other winger tracks up with him and gets another lovely ball back and runs in from the try. Starts the whole move on his own 5m line and runs it in from 40m Good player, no doubt about that...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Question, why do people feel Pollard is leaving us? I'm not sure he will. I think we'll try and extend him. He's marquee as such he's paid more than most. I know he's just had a kid which means he may go back to SA, but I genuinely think we have like a 50:50 chance of getting him to stay past next ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Max Green and Will Edwards would be both good pick ups for someone. I don’t know what either of these two are like, are they likely to be pushing for 1st choice towards the end of next season? As realistically pollard is likely to leave at the end of next season at 31 for a big pay day either in Ja...

Re: Dan Mckellar

There is Gym fit & then there is Rugby fit. It could also be a case of the way the week is structured before "3pm Saturday". I’m sure I remember reading once on here a comment from someone who said they watched the pre match warm up and that it seemed too intense and the players looke...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Noticed Ben Volavola is leaving Agen and a free agent At 33 his age might put off some other teams but would be a really good signing I’d have thought anybody we’re looking at now, will need to be English qualified if we have signed Moroni as well as Perese and Smith. Not sure how it works with Sou...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I see Moroni as great like for like replacement for Scott, Kelly definitely needs a senior head with him to organise defence so he can play his game, and Peres’s will take time to adjust to the premiership and a new team. And although I wouldn’t be disappointed with Moroni for those reasons I would ...

Re: Tigers v Sale (A) - Premiership - Friday 10th May 2024 - KO: 7:45pm

Another very frustrating watch. If we’d got one more try at the end there could have come away with 2pts that would have been a reasonable return. With the points difference 8th pretty much guaranteed. We’ve got to hope Sharks beat Gloucester in the challenge cup final or we won’t qualify for the c...

Re: Tigers v Sale (A) - Premiership - Friday 10th May 2024 - KO: 7:45pm

Just to clarify, we've lost the game, conceded the 4 try bonus point try and not picked up a losing bonus point....and this isn't a disappointing result? Is it because we only lost by 9 or because we didn't throw it away in the last 10 minutes this week? Some people are very easily pleased if that'...

Re: Tigers v Sale (A) - Premiership - Friday 10th May 2024 - KO: 7:45pm

The only saving grace is I won't have to look at those 'Irish football team' shirts for much longer. Let's hope the emerald green was an aberration! It’s not my taste either but it’s sold out in all junior sizes, and when I take my lad on a Sunday fat more kids are wearing that shirt than I’ve seen...

Re: Tigers v Sale (A) - Premiership - Friday 10th May 2024 - KO: 7:45pm

To be honest, it does feel a bit of a missed opportunity. Woodward is going to be in the Senior Squad next season anyway, so would make sense to have him on the bench over Phil C. FTT over Dolly makes more sense, especially as they are similar players and Whitcombe should be starting over Van Wyk. ...
