I think the starting tighthead has a whole 3 caps. Possibly using it as a development tour so spreading the game time round. Hastings back at 10 for the first time in a couple of years.Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 4:21 pm Townsend has picked a stronger side to face USA so no Hurd in the 23

Beets not in the Bulls 23. Article mentions an injury but doesn't name him or say anything about it

So it sounds not too bad but he'll have scans to confirmRegarding his exit and injury in the rib area, the captain clarified: “I'm fine, we'll see what the studies say.”
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

He was up and about after the game, so think he was just being cautious. He'll be away in camp for some time anyway.

Montoya is hard as nails though and reminds me of the knight in Monty Python's Holy Grail... No limbs... only a scratch!TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 12:22 pm https://www.aplenorugby.com.ar/site/los ... del-equipo

Let's hope it is only a scratch!

On the For the Love of Rugby pod today, Ben Youngs talks about his heart issues and why he apparently dropped to 3rd choice last season. He talked about having more episodes with his heart after the open training session also.
He's now had surgery on his heart for arrhythmia.
Currently in recovery, but expects to be ready for the start of the season.

Was the latter due to the former TFS?TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2024 9:54 am On the For the Love of Rugby pod today, Ben Youngs talks about his heart issues and why he apparently dropped to 3rd choice last season.
Cheering on the Tigers in Detroit.
Previously a slower, shorter, less good looking version of Tom Croft.

It was implied rather than outright stated on the pod itselfNo6_Flanker wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2024 3:08 amWas the latter due to the former TFS?TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2024 9:54 am On the For the Love of Rugby pod today, Ben Youngs talks about his heart issues and why he apparently dropped to 3rd choice last season.
However Ben does state it as the cause in the tweet advertising the pod (note that Ben & Dan do control the twitter account):

That tweet is accompanied by a pic of him as a waterboyWhy hasn't @benyoungs09 been playing?
On today's podcast, Ben has some news to share about his heart.

Thanks. I was just confused about the chronology of these events.TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2024 6:08 amIt was implied rather than outright stated on the pod itselfNo6_Flanker wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2024 3:08 amWas the latter due to the former TFS?TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2024 9:54 am On the For the Love of Rugby pod today, Ben Youngs talks about his heart issues and why he apparently dropped to 3rd choice last season.

Interesting - I thought it looked bad at the time.TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 10:22 pm Beets has a picture on his Instagram story in a knee brace
A month on (or just about) likely means it’s another 4-6 weeks (min) before he’s back running - if he’s not had an op.
If he’s had an op then he’ll be months away from getting out on the paddock.

Would depend massively on what op he's had done if he's had an op. Could be anything from his season over to him being back by September.DeadlyDunc wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 10:45 pmInteresting - I thought it looked bad at the time.TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 10:22 pm Beets has a picture on his Instagram story in a knee brace
