TV Deal for Season 2024/2025

Post by longlivethecrumbie »

Rugby Inside Line are reporting that the Premiership will stay on TNT/Discovery+ for next season with all 93 matches next season being shown live. https://x.com/RugbyInsideLine/status/17 ... 40750?s=20

Does this signal the end of the Premier Rugby game pass?

If they are showing every game then I assume yes.

I always saw Rugby Pass as a Plan B in case a decent TV deal did not come up.

The next problem is that, with season ticket prices going up and if every Tigers match is on TV, how would that impact on sales.

That said, if every Tigers match is on TV, that could encourage me to sign up to TNT again.

Unless this is an exceptional TV deal, it could be damaging for some clubs with fans choosing to drop Season Tickets and see a drop off in attendances at games?

This was my thought. There needs to be some decent money on the table to agree to sell every match. Then again it might have been the only deal on the table or the only way they would agree to similar money for less matches.

My suspicion is the later and another way that the 10 team league has screwed things and another promised benefit has not appeared.

Particularly if they have the right to mess about with kick off times for all games & we get a big increase in the unpopular Sunday games.

Might make me consider signing back up, but apart from some European games I have no interest in watching any games without Tigers playing.
Question for those with a subscription at present, Is "Fan Boy" still involved in their coverage?

TNT have introduced a few new faces. Still got Healey, Kay, Lol, Hogg, Flats, Topsy, a few lady internationals pop up, then presenters tend to be Sara Elgin, Bayfield, Ugo, Doyle less so these days.

Logic would dictate that they are going to want to spread the 5 games over 3 days. I would have thought for a lot of people Sunday would be preferable to Friday evening especially those with young children

Dayglo I can tune out, plus everytime you see him, you can laugh at him that because of his "ego" he wasn't the England captain in 2003.
Doyle is just awful, shame he didn't get the permanent Good Morning gig.

Not cheap but for all of that rugby next season then it may just be worth it.

If you are on a mobile contract with EE you can get it for £20 per month too.
