I’ve just messaged my old man who went down the pub instead of watching the match and I think this describes it succinctly - “it’s a good win that we probably shouldn’t have won but we deserved to win”

So I haven’t been wrong yet and definitely not again so arguably you are wrong again Still want to have what you are drinking.

We got our tactics pretty spot in and executed them well (most of the time). Defence was generally very solid and we played an interesting wide(ish) game.
Yes, we were lucky but we deserved the win

Yeah, got to feel with those guys around that it may be tricky for the likes of Tom Manz to get a look-in.RunTigerRun wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 10:05 pmChessum, Martin, Henderson, Carnduff - 2nd row has some depth, quality and longevity in it!!Darc Tiger wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 9:56 pmCarnduff is going to be another special player.TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 9:46 pm Also shoutout to Carnduff... McKellar showed faith bringing him on before Carter in the 2nd row, thought he brought physicality to us... like it!
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Whatever happened on the pitch, in terms of points that’s a huge win. Big picture - We are still in the race in all three competitions.
Favourite moment. Brown trying not to celebrate against his former employers
This weekend I’m supporting Newcastle, Bristol and Gloucester

Carnduff looked the part.
Nice to see McKeller showing trust in youngsters.

Agreed. Especially with the likes of Wells still playing well, Carter still doing a job and then Rob Carmichael, Lewis Chessum also coming through on top of any other academy lads.TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 10:17 pmYeah, got to feel with those guys around that it may be tricky for the likes of Tom Manz to get a look-in.RunTigerRun wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 10:05 pmChessum, Martin, Henderson, Carnduff - 2nd row has some depth, quality and longevity in it!!
Lock does seem a position of strength in our academy set-up!

According to BT sports Collier is the best scrummaging tight head in the league!
Is that when Cole and Heyes are away with England?

Carnduff could easily end up playing blindside for us as well in the Hanro role if he can develop his all round skills enough. He's certainly got the mobility and played there for England under 20s. It's pretty obvious why he's rated by the coaches, very much looks a matter of when and not if he becomes a regular in the first team.RunTigerRun wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 10:24 pmAgreed. McKellar got the tactics spot on. The quick transition to the outside really caught Quins out and getting OHC plenty of ball in hand is always likely to be a good call. The first half was complete domination. They only entered half because of one spooned kick otherwise they were barely in the game. The second half fight back was expected, they had to much quality and to many experienced coaches to not change up how they were playing. Liked the passion from McKellar in his brief in game interview. Cronin really did make some silly errors and struggled at scrum time, need to replace and upgrade in the summer.
Players can recharge a little and then start prepping for their assault on the business end of the season. Refine that attack a bit more and we're suddenly putting TBP wins on the likes of Quins and Sarries.

Just glad we managed to squeeze out a win. Maybe we can come good on the home straight after a few weeks rnr.
I always like Mike Brown but now he's in a Tigers shirt I'm loving it. Even better than the Ashton gig.

We played well and dominated territory and possession for long periods but we were not clinical near the try line. There were some handling errors but also some wrong choices made, we should have been further ahead when a misplaced kick gave Quin s the opportunity to score a great try. I see someone suggested that it was only the ref making a correct decision that ruled out a try for them but it was also the ref missing an illegal interference with our 9 that possibly cost us a try. With so many first and second choices missing from our lack the forwards did really well and were unlucky to concede the late one against the head.
