2024 Six Nations Chat

Post by Leicestertinytiger »

Congratulations Will Hurd for earning a well deserved Scotland call up.

Wales have also named their squad today which many have said is the weakest they’ve seen in the last 10 years. LRZ also leaving rugby to pursue NFL.

England squad to be announced tomorrow.

A big shock but I guess Gloucester looked at their league position and saw that there was nothing to play for so have cut him off the wage bill straight away. I suspect that all parties may have held on to the end of the season if Gloucester were challenging for anything.

Do we know the size of squad Borthwick will be picking , I assume it will be smaller than the World Cup

Congratulations to Hurd...

My concern...

We could if both Heyes and Cole get a call up to England (quite possible) be without our three top Tightheads...

Richardson would surely be the starter in the PRC semifinal then?
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Don’t think we will loose both Dan and Joe. Imo Tightheads will Stewart, Painter and Heyes.
Wouldn’t have thought Hurd will go straight into the Scot’s match day 23 either

Semifinal weekend is in the fallow week, so Hurd should be available.

I have never seen it happen but surely there has to be some form of agreement between international sides not to totally asset strip a club in one position.

Unlikely but, for example, what would happen if a club was stripped of all viable tight head prop options by international selection and injury. Would they be expected to find players on short term contracts to fill the gaps, would matches be postponed. Surely they could not expect academy lads to front up in the scrum in the prem.

Ridiculous situation and totally unrealistic but my mind wanders at lunchtime.

I doubt it. The pathway camps he’s going into start in January, so if he didn’t go now he’d have to wait until next year. He can go now, give it a couple of years and if it doesn’t pan out, he’ll only be 24 anyway and can come back for the next World Cup.

Jamie ....

Or

.... Ford

I'm guessing Jamie George, but given the two favourites both have the name George I'm not certain lol 😆 😉
