Post by susieblue »

There is a list in today’s Daily Telegraph of ( according to them) the top UK based male players.
We have 6 Tigers players in there - that’s 30%!!! How can we be in such a poor league position??
For info:

3. Ford
4. Itoje
5. Montoya
6. Farrell
7. Russell
8. Graham
9. Wiese
10. Earl
11.Steward
12. Shoeman
13. Morgan
14. Carreras
15. van der Merwe
16. Martin
17. Smith
18. Lawrence
19. Kitshoff
20. Watson

Watson shouldn’t be there as he has hardly been able to keep fit for any length of time. Not his fault but even when he has played we haven’t seen the best of him for ages. But it’s only a top 20 by opinion not stats!

Carreras should be way higher IMHO. Im not sure I would really argue with most of the rest.

Surprised Fazlet is included, but as said, this is by opinion, and he is, IMHO, massively overrated.

Im a DT reader but disagree with a number of those picks, how can Watson, who missed WC and loads of this season he's hardly played for ages, how can he be included, it's based on past experiences for everyone and certainly not on current form.

Spot on. 12 if you include the injured JvP and Watson.

We always struggle in the world cup years, I'm unsure why it's a surprise to some on here.

Tough ask for a new coaching setup, one of which is has been unavailable for most of the season on a leave of absence and another was at the world cup with Australia.

Games are won by teams, not individuals. It's a cliche, but it's true and (in large part probably for reasons listed above) we're playing as less than the sum of our parts.
