Tigers v Bath (H) - Premiership - Sunday 31st December 2023 - KO 3-00pm

Post by TigerFeetSteve »

Ok time to move on from yesterday.

Focus in the controllables which in this case is next weekend's game.

Potential injuries to Bassett and Watson may mean some rejigging in the backline.

Possible guess at the team is

Shillcock
Steward
Scott/Cokanasiga
Kelly
Brown/Kata
Pollard
Whiteley
Whitcombe
Montoya
Heyes
Martin
Chessum
Liebenberg
Cracknell
Wiese

Theobald-Thomas
Van Wyk
Cole
Wells
Ilione
Powell/JvP
Wilkinson
Kata/Cokanasiga/Simmons
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Regarding injuries: are we just a bit unlucky or is it a result of losing Aled? Probably a bit of both I suspect!

I have assumed all listed on the injured list on Friday are out (which included Reffell) except Scott, but that may be hope not expectation

Moving on is a great shout and that’s not a decent looking squad

What's not decent, ok it's streching the depth at hooker and scrum half but not too bad IMO.

I'd really like us to bring Sam Edwards onto the bench for the next game. He's not the quickest passer but his passing is accurate and his kicking good. When he's been given the chance he's put his body on the line as well. Been playing well out on loan as well according to reports.

I’d definitely give him minutes over Powell!

Looks like some posters on the Bath forum are suggesting this is a good fixture for them to rest and rotate... shame not to see some of their stars but could give us a stronger chance of picking up some points and momentum for Sarries.

I can't be there so I hope to listen to the commentary from Radio Leicester but there are only just over 650 tickets left so it looks like it will be a sell-out and a great atmosphere.

Should be a great atmosphere to see to year out with a bang sending Bath home with their tails well and truly between their legs! ALLEZ LES TIGRES!!!

I really hope we can pull their plug. A bounce back must be on the cards.⁹

It concerns me less what kind of squad Bath send, then seeing us improving on how we played in the Exeter game. On paper we looked great, just not on the pitch. I'm sure the message will be to work on the basics. A close to sell-out audience at MWWR will be expecting an improved performance...
