Won and denied Saints anything I'll take that.
Not pretty at all, and McKeller hopefully learns how important an out and out 7 is.
A bit worried we don't really have a proper out and out 7 back up. Ilione needs to be invested in that position I feel

Excellent result, that is all that matters.
"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.

you missed the point in that statement but I'm betting that was deliberate.Greenwhiteandred wrote: ↑Sat Nov 18, 2023 6:02 pmAbout as balanced as Humpty Dumpty - criticised us for not playing music at every break in play. Anyway, second half our lineout improved no coincidence that they started to use some deception again rather that just lining up and throwing

Nick Mullins mentioned him so he must have been therelonglivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Sat Nov 18, 2023 6:16 pm Maybe I'm missing something, but I genuinely didn't think Lenny had a bad game today. Yes, there was the one iffy kick towards the end but I thought he was decent.
On a separate note, did anyone spy our backs coach on the paddock today?

I love you, TIGERS
And if it's quite all right
I need you, TIGERS
To warm these lonely nights
I love you, TIGERS
Trust in me when I say

For me ,win all that matters..
Really don't care how..
Still though too much 'zzz' in defence
Nice atmosphere at Welford Rd ...
Undoubtedly deserved result..phew..

I know it rained off and on but that was a less than inspired game from both teams. Plus points for us - Reffell, Pollard, Wiese. For Saints - Freeman. Plenty of work ons for both teams.
From what we’ve seen so far, top four (in no particular order) of Sarries, Sale, Quins and Bath.
Tigers, Saints, Exeter and Glos fighting out 5th-8th. Bristol 9th and Newcastle 10th.

I agree although I wish they would shut up more. There were a number of times that Dixon was explaining stuff in detail and Kay just blathered on adding nothing but waffle. I would really like to hear more from people that matter ie the ref.Jimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Sat Nov 18, 2023 5:31 pm I like Austin, I find him very balanced, same with Kay commentary was all Saints as they had most of the play

I don’t think Youngs was poor, defensively he had a good game.
The issue is, and has been throughout his career, that his service at key times can be very inaccurate which leads to players over running the ball or not being able to ship it on.
I don’t know what the situation is regarding JVP fitness but now the forwards are starting to produce quick decent ball, I’d be tempted to start Whitely with Youngs off the bench.
Centres are more of an issue. Kata is very powerful but drifts in and out of the game and can rush up defensively. Porter seems to be trying far too hard, and looks more like a winger than a centre at present. Might not be a bad option out wide powerful and quick enough.
Some consistency is required there, unsure if Kelly injured or dropped, but feel him and Scott need a run of games there.

TNT could offer ref mic as a red button option, BBC with their live football used to offer 5Live commentary that wayOld Hob wrote: ↑Sat Nov 18, 2023 7:25 pmI agree although I wish they would shut up more. its having 2 analysts with the lead, they both need to add their POV so its almost constant, it doesn't overly bother me thoughBig Dai wrote: ↑Sat Nov 18, 2023 8:12 pmI've been asking fot this for years!
