Considering that we were missing 7 of our starting pack (6 on international duty and Cronin injured) it would have been surprising if we were not out muscled and lacked penetration in the forwards.

This makes it difficult for backs moves to make ground.

For me it’s frustrating that league matches occur during the international window at all but at least the World Cup is only every 4 years.

Like us Sarries have so many players missing and I’m not sure how many Chiefs had away!
Next week is a huge game v Sale as their pack won’t be missing as many as us!
Our problem was always going to be coping during this period just like Sarries and Harlequins!
I think, though it’s difficult when, like last night, we watch poor basic skills cost us so many chances, to remember just how many forwards are missing.

Having players away does not excuse the performance. The players yesterday are capable of considerably better and they know it.

But sure, we could have done better with our internationals back. At least we have Reffell and Kata back now.

He's northern. Came through the Falcons academy. Not sure he'd take being called a southerner all that well. :smt044

Sedbergh School in Cumbria after that.

If memory serves he competed for the England under 20s 15 shirt with Freddie Steward.

He's always been quick and elusive. He's built slight and has previously had issues losing the ball in contact. He's 6ft2 and just over 13 stone. Comparatively Steward is 3 inches taller but 3 stone heavier.

Doesn't Steward play the guitar?

If I'm picking a guitarist I'm always going Rory Gallagher.

I like Cream,I’m surprised Eric found time to play his guitar all the time he was trying to stop Baker and Bruce from killing each other!
