Tigers v Bristol (A) - Premiership - Friday 13th October 2023 - KO:19:45

Post by TigerFeetSteve »

So 23 players were rested... which combination will the come out in?

(Note I do think there is half a chance Ilione or Carter could push into contention for this game, but suspect they'll go the rested 23)

Shillcock
Hassell-Collins
Porter
Kelly
Bassett
Atkinson
Powell
Van Wyk
Dolly
Heyes
Wells
Henderson
Liebenberg
Cracknell
Rogerson

Clare
Whitcombe
Hurd
Williams (I'd go Carter personally)
Hatherall
Whiteley
Brown
Cokanasiga
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

I would start with Brown and have Shilcock on the bench, I think I would also start Whitcombe and Clare with Van Wyke and Dolly on the bench but happy either way. For me definitely Williams ahead of Carter based on this season's performance and the fact that Carter looked to be limping as he came off at Bedford. Illeoni will not let anyone down if he is included in the team.

Brown or Shilcock is a difficult one. If Atkinson has a poor day off the tee shilcock gives us an option but Brown is very good under the high ball so would be happy with either. Suspect Brown might start as shilcock covers 2 positions off the bench.

That was my thinking, looking forward to the game, I am a bit surprised to learn that numbers booking on the coach are low but I suppose being on a Friday night doesn't help. Personally I can't wait to see our new team under our new coach in Premiership action.

Sure you’re right JTG with it being on the telly too. M5 can be a bit of a car park on a Friday so would imagine any coach would need to leave at 3 to ensure it gets there on time which isn’t always the easiest on a working day

Baring injury squad pretty much picks itself with question marks being over starting loosehead and hooker, and fullback along with bench lock cover

Van Wyk
Dolly
Heyes
Henderson
Wells
Liebenberg
Cracknell
Rogerson
Powell
Atkinson
OHC
Kelly
Porter
Bassett
Shilcock

Bench - Claire, Whitcombe, Hurd, Williams, Hatherall, Whitely, Cocanasinga Brown

Think the 23 picks itself. The only major calls for me are 15 and no.8.

Brown and Shillcock are both class players - Brown though was a test animal and showed in the warm ups he’s still got it. If he starts then Atkinson needs to be nailing his kicks.

Rogerson is very much in the Liebenberg mould of player. A blindside with massive work rate and solid jumper. Probably why I’d start Hatherall at 8 as he’s a slightly stronger carrier and we’ll need front foot ball.

On Friday 13th as well :smt022 :smt009

Lots stacked against us here, but I'm pretty confident of a win.

Personally, with the best refs at the World Cup I actually think that we have one of the better ref combos left...

Agree with TFS probably the best of the rest.
If England win at the weekend I’d imagine a few of the English officials will be released back to the premiership

Dont forget that there is a 3rd place play off match so some may be retained.

Which is my point if England win then English officials won’t be able to officiate in 2 of the 4 remaining games. English officials are more likely to be retained if England get knocked out.
Come on Tigerbeat it’s not difficult keep up

I do agree with you though! Whenever I see seemingly anti-Tigers Kitty and random Tempest, it does not fill me with much hope, but it is what it is!
