Far too many pens against - I haven't seen the stats but I would guess 17/ 18 + - we need to sort that out very quickly
Hehehehehehehehe

Pretty dominant with that starting XV, as expected. Some nice play, and strong set piece. Defended well when required. Thought Rogerson was very busy.
Far too many penalties in the 2nd half, and never really got going with all the changes. Notts did well to make the score respectable.

I thought Powell, Bassett and all of the first half starters were good, too many penalties both halves but it looked as though we have changed our tactics somewhat. Kicked less, kicked straight out from inside 22 our 22 instead of keeping ball in play by kicking it back to opposition, looked like they trusted our lineout to win it back.
Disappointed with second half, penalties continued and Notts had some good runners and they won second half. This halves' team reverted to our old kicking game. Very much a game of 2 halves.

pretty good summary. Nice to see Cokasigina get a game and impressed with PowellLE18 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 10:45 pm I thought Powell, Bassett and all of the first half starters were good, too many penalties both halves but it looked as though we have changed our tactics somewhat. Ilione looked the business last night. Liked what I saw of Basset, but the highlight was definitely Kelly back in the shirt and looking menacing!

Good first half performance, much quicker ball from the breakdown. How much better was it watch a flowing game without the constant interfering of a T.M.O

Agree with most of the previous comments, I was particularly impressed by Powell at Scrum Half and the form of Kelly. illeoni and Coknasiga both seem to have added bulk and Carter useful in the lineout good all round first half performance..
The earlier Academy game was enjoyable, Tigers won 40. 26 against what appeared to be a bigger and physically stronger Sale side, good technique prevailed. Some excellent tries from speedy backs and a couple of traditional mauls over the line. I don't know names but the fly half James Edgerton was good with the boot from both tee and from hand.

Busy so did not attend the game. BBC Radio Leicester interview with Dan McKellar after the game was interesting and very positive.

Inhuman shoulders! He's like a triangle!longlivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Sat Sep 02, 2023 9:27 pmI couldn't believe the physique on Ilione to be honest. He had definitely added bulk
Powell looked good and crucially maybe means we can be less reliant on box kicking, as his isn't in the same league as most Tigers 9s of the past 5 years, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
That Olowofela chap looked useful in the first half!
