Looks like he's in training.

Not the first time he's gone down like that in a match.
I was a bit worried that it was the same injury that he did last season when he played at MWWR for Exeter last season

Watson not close to a return

Hurd a lot closer (by a lot closer I reckon he'll be in the 23 this weekend)

Edit, based on this more in depth tweet

Watson:
he won't be playing anytime soon, so we're taking a long term approach with that one
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Got to think that this means next season at best.

What is wrong with Watson. ? He looked half pace before the Stormers.

Think from his telegraph interview about a month ago it was a back issue

That was it, heard and interview which he did standing up as sitting down was painful.

A back issue and to quote Mckellar "he will not be fit anytime soon and we shall take a long term approach"

Yeah gotta feel sorry for the guy. He’s a quality player, over 50 caps, over 20 test tries and 6 B&I caps. When fit he’s one of the best wingers in NH.

However, purely as a Tigers fan, it’s been awful business and unfortunately a gamble that hasn’t paid off.

All very true. I’m unaware of him having issues with bad backs, but even with my very limited medical knowledge I’ve heard that repeated issues with one area of the body can put undue strain on others

Very much me readying too much into it but comments like 'won't be playing any time soon' and 'taking a long term approach' come across as very negative which is unlike most injury briefings and you have to wonder whether it is getting near time for him to call it a day. Would be very sad as, on his day, he is one of the best, but you do not mess around with back injuries as they can be life affecting if you push it too far.

I would sadly not be surprised to see an end of season retirement.

Agree there.

I think retirement is 50:50 especially given his recent interview...
