According to Midi Olympique, Julian Marchand could be absent for 4/5 weeks after his injury against NZ, and could be available for the quarter final. Peato Mauvaka et Pierre Bougarit and more than competent hooker replacements.

Think they will just risk the 2 hookers then or replace him?

It's worth the risk now NZ are out the way

Squad prop Falatea has some experience as hooker so a replacement is unlikely

The Springbok fly half Libbok has glowing reviews from the press after yesterday’s game, and I wonder if he’ll be first choice 10 come the knockout matches, even if Pollard becomes available?

He was brilliant in the European Cup and URC last season. The only thing that may count against him is his goal kicking.
I did wonder if Grant Williams might be worthy of a start at 9 but De Klerk is probably undropable. We saw a glimpse of his running threat towards the end of yesterday’s game.

The diagnosis of Marchand's injury is a torn hamstring (I thought that only the girls in the backs had hamstrings!) and could be unavailable for 4-5 weeks and maybe fit for selection come the QFs. No replacement is planned.

According to Midi Olympique, this will be the likely starting XV for France in Thursday evening's pool match against Uruguay in Lille:

15. Jaminet ; 14. Bielle-Biarrey, 13. Vincent, 12. Moefana, 11. Villière ; 10. Hastoy, 9. Lucu ; 7. Macalou, 8. Jelonch, 6. Boudehent ; 5. Taofifenua, 4. Woki ; 3. Aldegheri, 2. Bourgarit, 1. Gros.

Only Woki, Moefana and Villière remain from the starting XV against NZ, but there's a return to the side from injury of Toulouse back row forward Antony Jelonch, who'll probably play 8, and will be captain too.

Dave Cherry is out of Scotland's World Cup squad with a concussion suffered after slipping on hotel stairs.

Unlucky for him (unless of course, he’d just come out of a meeting with sponsors « Famous Grouse »!
