Pearson continuing his form from this season:
“Tom was on a bike this week and achieved scores I've never seen before.” - Borthwick
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/65908207
Competition in the back row is off the charts:
6. Lawes, Ludlam
7. J Willis, T Curry
8. B Vunipola, Mercer
It might be a shoot out between Pearson and Ludlam.

Cheering on the Tigers in Detroit.
Previously a slower, shorter, less good looking version of Tom Croft.

If Underhill can stay fit (massive if I accept) he'll get into that discussion too I think. Willis has been brilliant at club level and shown flashes for England but Underhill's best is still miles ahead of what Willis has shown at international level currently.
I actually thought Ludlam had the most consistent Six Nations of that inexperienced back row but again Underhill's ceiling is a lot higher.

I would be interested to see a backrow of 6 T Curry, 7 Pearson, 8 Earl. All 3 of them carry well above their size and weight, and excellent both sides of the ball

J Willis got better over the six nations and probably played his best game against Ireland. I’d have him and Curry on the flanks.
Pearson off the bench. Underhill a shadow of the player he once was sadly.

I think Lawes best days are well behind him, he is now so injury prone, never finishes a game, he would not be in my selection.

Re: England Training Squad - June 2023
Telegraph are speculating that the following will be called up:
Courtney Lawes, Lewis Ludlam, Alex Mitchell, Fraser Dingwall, Fin Smith, and David Ribbans (Northampton Saints).
Ben Youngs, Jack Van Poortvliet, Anthony Watson, Freddie Steward, Guy Porter, Dan Cole, Joe Heyes, and George Martin (Leicester Tigers).
They predict that one of Harry Randall or Ben Spencer may miss out, and that Dan Kelly and George Furbank will not be called up.
Apparently Ollie Hassell-Collins may not be called back to train with the squad.

Will be interesting to see if Borthwick runs as tight as ship info wise as he did at tigers
Because I don’t see how Kelly misses out

I'm not sure the article said that about Porter (or any Tigers players), it just said all of those players had featured in Borthwick's 6N squads at some point; it named checked DK as obviously their sources have indicated he hasn't been called up, which is a surprise.No6_Flanker wrote: ↑Sun Jun 18, 2023 9:14 pm Telegraph are speculating that the following will be called up:

I'd be surprised if Dan wasn't called up (I'd be similarly surprised if more than about 4 Saints were). But whatever Tigers don't appear for England is good for Tigers...

Surprised and a little concerned. A year since his England cap I can see the Irish sides sniffing round if he doesn’t play for England againTigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 9:08 am https://www.englandrugby.com/news/artic ... ining-camp

Not concerned on that front really, doubt he'll be gone for long. Post World Cup I expect a bit of a clear out and rebuild from Borthwick. Fully expecting Kelly to be in and about plans for the 6N if fitRugbygramps wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 9:11 amSurprised and a little concerned.
