Oof. I'd love to think we could win 3 of those but it could as easily be 4 loses....TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 9:02 am https://www.leicestertigers.com/news/ch ... res-230712

From the looks of it might be a year to focus on the league.

Best possible set of home and away IMO.TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 9:02 am https://www.leicestertigers.com/news/ch ... res-230712

Travelling to La Rochelle whilst very tough will be an unreal atmosphere. Not having to travel to SA is a huge plus and Leinster at WR gives us the shot to make amends for the last 2 fixtures. Then a nice trip to Paris for Stade is a strong chance for some points.
Very excited!

All things considered, not the worst, but we have to win those first two to have a reasonable shot.

Totally agree in terms of how the fixtures have come out. Stormers and Stade definitely winnable and Leinster with a new coach post World Cup who knows.RunTigerRun wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 9:22 amBest possible set of home and away IMO.TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 9:02 am https://www.leicestertigers.com/news/ch ... res-230712

Really depend on how strong a side they send they certainly aren’t the force they are at homeads wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 9:11 amOof. A lot of it will depend on where their URC matches are beforehand (and after)Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 9:38 amReally depend on how strong a side they send they certainly aren’t the force they are at homeads wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 9:11 amOof. In the URC playing in SA is done in blocks. If say Stormers are in UK and Ireland for a number of weeks beforehand they may have their full squad on hand, if they have a block in SA beforehand then they'll probably keep their stars at home...
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Re: Next season Champions Cup - 2023/2024
In terms of what team Stormers will put out vs us I looked at their Fixture list 3 weeks before and after:
Stormers:
Nov 18th away vs Munster (Europe)
Nov 24th away vs Cardiff (Europe)
Dec 1st home vs Zebre (SA)
Dec 10th away vs Tigers (Europe)
Dec 16th home vs La Rochelle (SA)
Dec 23rd home vs Bulls (SA)
Dec 30th home vs Cell C Sharks (SA)
Basically I suspect they will after the Cardiff game relocate part of their squad back to SA, for the Zebre game, the rest will relocate back after the Tigers.
Question really is which bit of their squad they leave vs which bit stays, given their run of games (other than Zebre) I'd suggest they want their A team back in SA acclimatising for a big run of games for them, so my suspicion is some of their stars may well not be playing against us.

Re: Next season Champions Cup - 2023/2024
Got to hope Leinster win their first three and then send their second team to Welford Road. Of course their second team is still more than a bit handy and has quite a few internationals.TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 9:49 amA lot of it will depend on where their URC matches are beforehand (and after)Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 9:38 amReally depend on how strong a side they send they certainly aren’t the force they are at home

I also guess much will depend on the World Cup. The down side to having most of the Irish national side is that the rest of the season could depend on what state they come back in from the World Cup.sam16111986 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 11:03 amGot to hope Leinster win their first three and then send their second team to Welford Road. Who is Leinsters new coach? Or are we talking about Lancasters replacement? If that's the case I don't think it will make much difference, certainly not in a detrimental sense anyway as I believe SL is vastly overrated

In reality you have to say the same about the South African provinces now after their second team hammered Australiasam16111986 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 11:03 amGot to hope Leinster win their first three and then send their second team to Welford Road. Two exciting home matches which I'd like to think will be a sell-out.
I'll hopefully be over for at least the Stormers game.
