Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Disappointing to see Potter go, really talented player who bagged lots of tries, let’s hope Watson is staying, if not the new HC must have something in the pipeline as a replacement!!

I can't imagine we'd have agreed to an early release unless this means we had secured Watson for another year, otherwise Simmons would be our only winger retained from this season.

Got to say I'm gutted. I reckon he could be a pretty special winger and was hoping he'd get picked up by England.
Can't say I blame him though, it might be sunny here (Leeds) today but I could move to Oz quite easily!!
[Sorry Harry] Wizard of Oz!! [Sorry Harry]

Known wingers out Ashton, Potter, Saumaki and Nandolo. Known wingers in Josh Basset and OHC? Unknown Winger status Watson?Chobbsy wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 1:08 pmDont forget Josh Bassett as well coming insapajo wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 12:10 pmGood pointTigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 12:07 pm

Let's look at this on the flip side - if there wasn't a winger coming in then we either have spare cap we didn't expect to have to top up any offer to Watson or we now have cap space to shop elsewhere.

Heavily linked with Kata who plays centre and Wing
Plus IMO, Simmons essentially took Saumaki's place in the squad as a backup winger this season, with Browning retained to step up as Development depth.
I do think when you look at the minutes Murimurivalu & Saumaki had this season we were probably over-stocked there.
This season, less clashes between Internationals & league games I don't think we need more than maybe Kata and retaining Watson.

Plus hopefully a little spare cap space for an unknown WC bolter back that impresses in France?!?TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 1:46 pmHeavily linked with Kata who plays centre and Wing
