Fixtures - 21st to 23rd April 2023

Post by Rugbygramps »

No Tigers fixture this weekend, some of the boys are in Morocco on Camels.

Still plenty of interest in other fixtures that may affect our final leg position.
First up is Newcastle v Northampton tomorrow night. Both teams have gone fully loaded, just have a sneaking suspicion Newcastle might nick this one.

I agree RG. Moroni, Radwan + Saints leaky defence....

Doubt Newcastle will stop Saints getting a bonus point victory.
Sadly Newcastle might have turned up v us but their defence is woeful.
Saints know they have to get 5 points so will be highly motivated.
Hope Newcastle prove me wrong.
Cannot see Gloucester winning but Saracens v Irish will be interesting!
We beat Quins on the final day of league matches the other results are immaterial!

Obatoyinbo looks mustard as well. I can see Saints struggling. Falcons last home game. They will want to put in a performance, and avoiding bottom place must still be a goal.

I hope your prediction is as accurate as it was for the past few Tigers league games.

Saints need a positive points swing versus us of more than 100 points in our remaining game each, so we're guaranteed finishing above them.
In order for their to be something to play for in the final weekend, a Newcastle win aligned with a Sale loss means there's a lot riding on the following round of matches. If Saints win, irish must beat Sarries to keep their hopes alive - a tough task away from home.
Even if Sale lose, you cant see them losing their final home game against Newcastle.
So its likely to be all about 4th place. If Irish and Saints lose and Quins get 5 against Bath, then Quins come to MWWR with a shot at 4th.....
Less is more....

Exeter bring back in Frost, Ewers, Kirsten, and Slade v Bristol.
Woodburn also plays so no ban.

Quins go fully loaded against Bath. Interestingly Bassett starts at 15 again.

Gloucester have McGuigan and Hastings back v Sale.

Saracens have Mako, Itoje, Earl, Farrell, et al back v Irish.

Sarries have gone all out vs London Irish so may well have some stuff sewn up before our game if Sarries win
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

The situation changed when Worcester and Wasps both went under. Newcastle are the only team with nothing tangible to play for, as both Bath and Gloucester can still make the top 8

Tigers v Quins last game of the season.

Jez Harris misses a penalty in the last minute handing victory to Quins and the title to Bath.

Sick as a parrot! Hope it's not an omen!

NGL if Bath win the league this year I'll be fuming!

Finn Carnduff captaining an England U19s side against Wales tomorrow at 3pm. Josh Manz plays 8. Not sure if I'm missing any others.
