Re: the bench, how do you like them apples! Should see us finishing strongly in the last quarter.
Cheering on the Tigers in Detroit.
Previously a slower, shorter, less good looking version of Tom Croft.

No Porter and Wells is a shame, otherwise that's about as strong as we could put out.

Should be a close fought match.

Gopperth looked good at 12 alongside Pollard, he struggled next to Burns, but in some ways could be considered unlucky to drop out when Porter was fit.

Bench cover:
Pollard has played a lot at 12, plus Atkinson came off the bench there a couple of weeks back.
Biggest concern is 13 cover, but Potter covered there well earlier in the season.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

I'd have JVP, Cole and Steward all starting. Not sure why, with not many games left and Top 4 not secured, you'd want to leave your best players (arguably) on the bench ? Dan Cole has been picking his nose for 6 weeks ! [Broken record]......they don't need a rest, they're well managed these days and not flogged like in the 2000s.

To be fair I don’t think the lads who have turned it round should be left out.
Porter and Kelly out is a blow but Scott and Gopperth more than good enough. Was Porter injured training with England, us or is his concussion injury still hanging around? Wells too a massive loss along with Green.
The England lads have to earn the shirt.
We will need to keep their electric back line quiet as well as Harry Thacker!
Both he and Genge would love to score against us.
Apart from a couple of players Bristol have their strongest team out and like us are full of confidence.
We all need to make more noise than at any other game this season.
I will obviously take any win, then it’s a case of trying to beat Exeter and Quins.
An exciting end to the season.

Gopperth is a little bit of a concern vs Bristols backs but on our pitch it should minimize that risk a bit, otherwise I'm pretty happy with how things look, we should have the edge at scrum time and our bench looks the stronger of the 2 which will hopefully carry us through

Looks a fantastic 23 from where I am sitting.

Bristol have a good line up too, so should be an excellent game.

Agree IMO only Chessum, Kelly & Porter get into a stronger 23, possibly Whitcombe & Wells too.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Kelly and Porter have had virtually nothing to do with our good recent form. Not saying they shouldn’t be in the side when fit, but I don’t see what’s different about this match from the last four that we have won where the centre pairing was Gopperth and Scott.

We’ll probably get tanked now I’ve said that…
