Covering the pitch
Being very sad I tend to look at the webcam most days https://www.leicestertigers.com/mattioli-woods/webcam and have noticed that the pitch is covered due to the snow/ frost we are due to have. As we haven't got a game this weekend there must be a good reason for this - does anyone know why?
Re: Covering the pitch
They cover the pitch to protect it from the frost and also as a precaution in case the pitches at Oval Park are not available, Welford Road provides a back up. (according to the Grounds Keepers)

And it's also far healthier for the grass to keep it covered and prevents longer term damage that comes with frost, even if it isn't actually being used.
Re: Covering the pitch
I noticed at the weekend there was quite a bit of wear on the pitch, at this time of year grass is starting to grow and an extra warmth will help it to recover and mend more quickly.Hot_Charlie wrote: ↑Tue Mar 07, 2023 12:35 pmAnd it's also far healthier for the grass to keep it covered and prevents longer term damage that comes with frost, even if it isn't actually being used.
