Honestly stankovich I felt was better, not that I though Harrison is poor or anything just felt more confident in anyone stanko trained

I'm always amazed Stanko seems to have left the game, he did an incredible job with our scrum in his time here

When Stanko was with Tigers, our scrum was constantly dominant, which I "expect" from a Tigers' scrum! Unfortunately now, it is not.

I would like a return to those days! :smt023

Our scrum is still one if not the best in the league. Considering we've got Whitcombe, Hurd and Heyes all on their early twenties in there that's a good effort.

In the Stanko days our forwards weren't expected to chase kicks or have the smothering defensive efforts they are now. That's going to take a bit out of the legs.

For me our scrum is somewhat average now. I just wish it were better!

Your point about running more, however, is an excellent one!

I wonder if it’s our scrum that has got worse, or other teams have got better, realising the importance of it.
It’s very rare over an 80 minute period that we are bested, and I would still back us to get a penalty on our own put in when required

According to CityAM and Matt Hardy, former Saints boss Alan Dickens will be the Tigers attack coach next season.

Good spot - I never had CityAM down as a breaker of niche rugby news. I'm not sure what to think about this appointment if true. I wouldn't criticize him for this years poor U20 results as the whole set up and structure has fallen away recently.

Any recollections on the Saints back play under Dickens?

Can’t say I’m overly enthralled by the appointment going just off the name, however we have had a few of these ‘moneyball’ style signings where the names may not excite yet they’ve been the best fit.

Whilst results may not have been great for the U20s, their style of play has been positive and if he’s impressed Andrea and DMK etc then that is good enough for me.

Be interesting to see if this would be the only addition to the coaches, and if so where that leaves the likes of Smith etc.?!

For me Smith & Deacon are essential parts of the set up...they bleed Green, Red & White.
To win is not as important as playing with style!

Interestingly the RFU page for him mentions him being a former Saints defence coach and 1 time England Saxons defence coach

So if this does come to fruition, the coaching setup would look like this:

Head Coach - Dan McKellar
Attack Coach - Alan Dickens
Defence Coach - Matt Everard
Forwards Coach - Brett Deacon
Backs Coach - Matt Smith
Scrum Coach - Tom Harrison

Seems fairly well balanced on the overview ? A mix of big names, Tigers DNA and new ideas. Good mix of ex backs and ex forwards. Could be promising
