I suspect he knows exactly who they are, and has done for a while. (Ie. When that interview was recorded) Whether there is any business remaining to be done might be the issue, and keeping your cards close to your chest on that is advisable.

He also knows that some were yet to be announced, when this was filmed Kata & Carter hadn't been announced.
That said with his attention to detail I cannot believe he didn't know the names.

Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

He didn't say he didn't know who.... just that he wasn't going to name any individuals!TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 6:12 pm He also knows that some were yet to be announced, when this was filmed Kata & Carter hadn't been announced.

What's the news on Eddie? Is he staying at Oz or not? And of he does leave what are the chances of losing another coach to an International team?!

It's inevitable that McKellar will be interested in the Australia job as/when it comes up again. But, whether they want him may depend on how well he does with us.
A slight aside - I wonder when the last time was that Tigers, City and Leicestershire all had changes of head coach/manager all within a very short window?

I get the impression that Mckellar is in this for the long term.
He arrived long before last season ended and has moved/is moving his family over here lock stock and barrel.
The other thing is what state is the Aussie team going to be in by the time Jones finishes

Eddie has a contract until the world cup after this one and is also doing quite a bit with the women's rugby team as well. I can't see that being a short term appointment with the Wallabies.
As long as McKellar and his family are happy here and Tigers are going well on the field we should have him until at least 2027. That's quite a long time for a head coach in the modern game. Plenty of time for him to do good things here and build on what we've got on place already.

Well in an Aussie interview he said him and his family would be moving to the UK at the end of June ready for his 1st July start date.Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Fri Jun 23, 2023 8:44 am I get the impression that Mckellar is in this for the long term.
