Yes,makes sense. Ones an openside and the other is a lock/BR hybrid. It’s like saying everyone talks about Justin Tipuric but Mario Itoje outplayed him today,or am I not getting it?Darc Tiger wrote: ↑Sat Feb 25, 2023 9:36 pm Pearson is excellent. Played well today.
Happy for George Martin to go under the radar a bit. Borthwick knows him well. He'll get a chance again.

2 wins on the bounce with our 6N’s contingent away is more than we expected. Bath looked utterly dire on Friday, so we should be able to take 3 from 3. Cracknell is a dream club player. Abrasive, aggressive, can play a few positions and also not on the international radar. He has been a great buy.
Can’t have enough praise for the coaching staff after all the upheaval and rumours. Great result and move onto Bath.

There is never any points for 2nd place...

Agree about Cracknell. Beast of a ball carrier.

Everard must get credit as our defence has been awesome.

One thing I will add is that out general field defence under Sinfield was markedly improved but our goalline D wasn't that hot. In the last few weeks our goalline D has improved under Everard. The guy is doing a cracking job putting his own imprint on our defensive shape.

Sinfield did introduce the tactic of pulling the opposition over the line and holding them up which has been a great benefit to us.longlivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 11:51 amOne thing I will add is that out general field defence under Sinfield was markedly improved but our goalline D wasn't that hot. This might also be the advantage of experience in the backline. Lots of leaders to ensure we're numbered up and not over committing.

good to see Ilone getting stuck in, I wonder how far away from a league debut Lewis Chessum is?

Not sure Lewis will get one this season, tbh unless we drop out the top 4 race, too many must win games plus his brother back will strengthen what we have.Jimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 1:40 pm good to see Ilone getting stuck in, I wonder how far away from a league debut Lewis Chessum is?
He'll get his chance properly next season.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

SO proud of the team for pulling together so well to score two great wins, after losing Borthwick and Sinfield, plus all the players to internationals. True Tigers!

if Henderson stays with Scotland in the light of Gilchrist's red card he might get one during this 6 nations given our absenteesTigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 1:52 pmNot sure Lewis will get one this season, tbh unless we drop out the top 4 race, too many must win games plus his brother back will strengthen what we have.Jimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 1:40 pm good to see Ilone getting stuck in, I wonder how far away from a league debut Lewis Chessum is?

Given he's the U20s skipper, it's unlikely we'll recall him.Jimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 3:25 pmif Henderson stays with Scotland in the light of Gilchrist's red card he might get one during this 6 nations given our absenteesTigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 1:52 pmNot sure Lewis will get one this season, tbh unless we drop out the top 4 race, too many must win games plus his brother back will strengthen what we have.Jimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 1:40 pm good to see Ilone getting stuck in, I wonder how far away from a league debut Lewis Chessum is?

if we need him we should, being U20s skipper is great but playing mens senior Rugby is more beneficial to him, so long as Wells, Martin and Snyman stay fit we should let him stay there howeverDarc Tiger wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 3:43 pmGiven he's the U20s skipper, it's unlikely we'll recall him.Jimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 3:25 pmif Henderson stays with Scotland in the light of Gilchrist's red card he might get one during this 6 nations given our absenteesTigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 1:52 pm

I heard the commentary say Cunningham-South for LI chose to stay with the club for this game rather than taking his place in the U20s team.Jimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 3:47 pmif we need him we should, being U20s skipper is great but playing mens senior Rugby is more beneficial to him, so long as Wells, Martin and Snyman stay fit we should let him stay there howeverDarc Tiger wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 3:43 pmGiven he's the U20s skipper, it's unlikely we'll recall him.Jimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 3:25 pm
