Weber classified authority as charismatic or traditional or rational-legal. Sports leaders/coaches/managers are the latter, and some are the former.
Leicester Tigers 1995-
Nottingham 1995-2000
Swansea (Whites) 1988-95
A game played on grass in the open air by teams of XV.

Yes, he is a great leader, and a perfect example of how a head coach should be.Smudge wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 12:26 pm The coach that fits your description of charismatic for me is Rob Baxter. He has achieved much but has always been respectful to the opposition, straight talking to the press and media. Above all, he's a great, reserved personality who his teams and supporters would follow to the ends of the earth.

Look forward to an LTTV chat of Bondi with him!TigerXV wrote: ↑Wed Feb 22, 2023 6:16 pm I know this link has already been posted but this interview with Dan McKellar is a must watch for anyone interested in the man and how he works. He is really impressive and I can totally see why we have gone with him as he is very SB like - attention to detail, person person, forward set piece orientated with attack bolted on - oh and not a fan of kick tennis/box kicks

Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Wonder if our new coach will want to bring one or two Brumbies players with him ?

I don’t know many Brumbies players - are there any that could fit our team? Any younger props or a project backrowers or a centre/wing/utility back 3?
Hard part is predicting which of our players will leave!

Jesse Mogg maybe ? Full back who is 33, so would fit into our backline nicely !

No one else worried about another assistant international coach using us as a stepping stone to then jump ship as soon as he is offered the national job ?

Good shout! Might not need him with Brown thoughwestwinds31 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 10:10 am Jesse Mogg maybe ? Full back who is 33, so would fit into our backline nicely !

I'd be happy if we became the club that brings in international hopeful coaches, wins trophies and then they go off and round we go again. Not sure it's a model that would work in the long-term, but hey, if it brings success.....

Absolutely, said as much earlier! If Jones bombs at the RWC it could be earlier than we think. Although it is a 4 year contract,I'm sure there will be breaks in that from both sides. And those who think he will turn the Oz job down are living in cloud cuckoo land

Very pleased to read that he has cost us absolutely nothing to get him released from his Aussie contract according to WA today - "RA’s focus appears now to be making sure it doesn’t burn bridges with the departing 46-year-old. The organisation did not stand in the way of his request for an early release, and did not pursue a break fee from Leicester." Not so pleased to read in the same article that they still view him as the top man for the national side sometime in the future - “The thing now is to make sure we stay connected to him when he is overseas and keep working with him, and hopefully we see him back in Australia at the right time.” Only to be expected though.
Hehehehehehehehe

Can we deduce from this that the favour will be returned as regards to the break fee/compensation agreement when/if he goes back? Stands a very good chance!trendylfj wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 11:21 am Very pleased to read that he has cost us absolutely nothing to get him released from his Aussie contract according to WA today - "RA’s focus appears now to be making sure it doesn’t burn bridges with the departing 46-year-old.
