Read this online today- can anyone verify;
French newspaper Lamontage report that Vern Cotter is in pole position to take over at Leicester Tigers.
They reached out to the former Fiji coach, who didn't rule out a return to Europe.
The report adds that the shortlist has been whittled down to Cotter and Michael Cheika.

Which roughly goes....
Two weeks after his resignation from the Fijian selection, the former coach and emblematic figure of ASM Clermont would be on the list of favorites to succeed Steve Borthwick at the head of the Leicester Tigers team in England.
The news had surprised more than one. A fortnight ago, the Fijian federation communicated to announce the resignation of Vern Cotter , who had led the national team for three years. It was a question of "personal reasons", but in a New Zealand media, the former Clermont coach said he was "disappointed to leave at that time", without any other real explanation.
Seven months before the World Cup, this departure raises questions. At the same time, across the Channel, there is currently much talk of the succession of Steve Borthwick, the coach of Leicester who left this club a month ago to take charge of the fifteen of the Rose.
Contacted, Cotter did not rule out "a return to Europe"
Two names are mentioned to lead the Tigers, Michael Cheika (55), currently in post with the Pumas and therefore, Vern Cotter (61), who has already led two European clubs, Clermont and Montpellier. It should also be remembered that the New Zealand technician was at the head of the Scotland team between 2014 and 2017.
We contacted the former ASM coach this Thursday morning, who did not confirm that he was in pole position to sign for Leicester, but he did not rule out "a return to Europe". Understand, why not in France...

Have Clermont confirmed who's replacing Jono Gibbs for next season yet?
The more I hear the more I like the sound of Dan McKellar.

You can remove Dan McKellar from the running. Staying with Australia according to a The Rugby Paper. Then again, it’s The Rugby Paper.

Re: Who should be the next Head Coach / DoR at Tigers?
I'd seen a couple of articles in Australia suggesting that it was very important that Eddie and the ARU keep his services. Suggestions that the best coaching talent needs to be retained and improved within Australia instead of heading overseas. There was supposed to be a big sit-down meeting this week.

I'm led to believe that the individual is a Kiwi. That's from a usually reliable source.Tigersunited wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 8:24 pm Apparently someone said today that Andrea wasn’t at the game because she is away finalising the new head coach……

Reading Andrea’s notes in the programme it sounds like we have recruited whoever it is and are just awaiting an official announcement .
