Dan McKellar to join Leicester Tigers as Head Coach

Post by Tigerbeat »

On behalf of CrumblingTerrace, the poll has been created on the Forum

Faithful forum members!

You are now all on the unofficial selection panel for our next Head Coach. There are 7 x candidates for the job (thanks to kpj tiger for the list on the other thread) and we need to make a decision by Friday, 5pm.

All panel members get 1 x vote, which you can cast at the link below.

Who should be our next Head Coach?

(note: for the sake of this vote, I'm using the HC and DoR roles interchangeably)

So what? Why should that preclude opinion?

TBH, I dont know enough aboutthe 2 Dans and Leon McDonald to have an opinion really. Apart from my Ulster fan mate saying we're welcome to McFarland, but he's always very pessimistic when it comes to rugby.

Well it has to be a Scot or at least one with a Scottish history.

I doubt the head coach would mind. Anyone taking over from Borthwick would have the have the mindset of "I'll win them over when we start winning games". Let's face it, it's not a job that comes without pressure.

Plus the chances are people are voting for the coach they know the most about so McKellar and McDonald would probably not take it seriously. Most Tigers fans won't have seen one of their teams play.

Townsend for me. I think he did a brilliant job at Glasgow and Scotland and think we'd see some brilliant rugby.

That said,I would be delighted with Cotter or Cheika too. Don't know much about McKellar or Mcdonald and not blown away by Dan McFarland.

I think it’s a bit of fun and if a Coach looked at this forum and saw they were second choice and chucked their toys out the cot, maybe they are not of the moral fibre we need? I voted Cheika for what it’s worth.
There is never any points for 2nd place...

Well he only has one vote on the poll so far but if HighveldTiger72 turns up on the board I will have my suspicions.
