DO TIGERS FANS NEED A SONG?
The boring and less than inspiring chant of "tigers, tigers" has been ringing around Welford Road for donkey's years. I can't be the only one who finds it so, surely? Visiting Clermont and hearing their fans sing réal songs made me wonder.
I have stolen the Irish RFU anthem which fits perfectly.
Tigers, tigers
Together standing tall
Shoulder to shoulder
In every ruck and maul.
Imagine that ringing around the ground. Any takers?

Well anything is better than that " take me home" durge that many folks like.
Each to their own really but if any new chant or song is to succeed it needs a majority buy in.

Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity

Nope, nothing really against it but any attempt to shoehorn in something like this just seems a bit forced and a bit fake. If something evolves naturally on the terraces then, fine but trying to develop and shoehorn in a club song would be just a big cringeworthy and a but embarrasing to me. My opinion only though.

This cri de coeur crops up regularly and rarely succeeds in attracting takers. If you want to sing go ahead; I'll pass, thanks.

In fairness, I'm not sure any song 'evolves naturally' in a sports stadium.GB72 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 11:44 am Nope, nothing really against it but any attempt to shoehorn in something like this just seems a bit forced and a bit fake. We only have Smoke on the Water because Johnno decided, much like tigerssteve is proposing now, that we were missing a song.
We only heard Shiny Happy People after each home victory because the DJ chose it.
Songs are obviously far more common in football and next to none of them are organic. Liverpool fans sing Si Senõr every game, a song plagiarised from River Plate, with lyrics made up by folk on forums much like this one.

I don;t really think we need a song, but if we were going to have one I would go for Lulu's " I'm a Tiger "

I think we should have songs about the players,Liverpools
"He's big he's red ,his feet stick out the bed.
Peter Crouch ,Peter Crouch"
is the kind of stuff I wanna hear

You gave the world Kasabian and Showaddywaddy so there must be a good tune in there to sing a long to.
Re: DO TIGERS FANS NEED A SONG?
Don't forget Mark Morrison and Englebert Humperdinck!
Re: DO TIGERS FANS NEED A SONG?
A song? Please, no! I would prefer to hear more fans shouting "Tigers"!

Re: DO TIGERS FANS NEED A SONG?
Given the RFUs recent attitude to robbing us of our coaching staff, how about a version of Bad fingers " If you want it come and get it"
Or
Ah's "Take on me"
Or
Olivia Newton John and John Travolta "You're the one that I want"
Or
ACDC "Dirty deeds done cheap"

After the departure of Borthwick and Sir Kev, now followed at the end of the season by Wigglesworth and Walters, maybe "Always look on the bright side of life...." would be fitting!

On further consideration I'm settling on the theme tune for Shaft.
