How is Brown starting ahead of Atkinson?! I fear our back line is going to be ripped to shreds...
He's not England's most capped 15 for nothing, and if he's still fit, then I think he's a very solid bet.

Ultimately if it wasn't for the disastrous management by Quins, he'd still probably be a regular in and around their matchday squads.
Not played a competitive match for nearly a year & looked dire at the Falcons....god knows what Kini has done....
I rest my case. Still excellent.

Behave yourself Charlie. He’d need an oxygen tent after 10 mins trying to keep up with their all court attack 😵‍💫
Dokie: on reflection, any thoughts on Mike Brown and his performance.

I hate to say I told you so... :smt002 :smt003

Admitting you’re wrong is hard on here isn’t it !!?? You get a run up with a post even saying “here come the I told you so posts”. Hilarious 😂

Brown was very good, he may not be next week but all I know is, he’s obviously in great shape, he’s still passionate about rugby, has a shed load of experience and he cares. Not a bad starting point. [caveat, I may be wrong, but will happily admit it, without any prompting !! :smt038 ]

I think he'll still be consistently excellent. Because that's what Mike Brown has always been good at when with Quins and England. :smt003

Though, knowing our luck, he'll probably break his leg.

I think with the general downward pressure on salaries we may well see a lot of players moving around and not just those in the evening of their careers, we might see a lot crossing the river Severn coming our way.

I can certainly see that and I can see some of the bigger names in our league looking at the salaries in France. There may be a bit of pain if clubs do the inevitable and have to start paying less. Our bumper crop of youngsters will be a problem (though a relatively nice one) in that they are going to start looking for wages consumate with capped internationals and I am just not sure how we can keep them all. We have done some good business for next season with players who are just below that standard and so are emminently more affordable.

I was in Bordeaux at the weekend. Watched the game vs Clermont….a yawn fest. Managed to find a bar which showed Tigers which was decent. Hope I’m right, but that second half display must have felt good in the changing room afterwards, knowing you’ve held your end up. We’re a different side with Pollard at 10.

Brown was once amongst the world's best FB,fundamentally arguably THE best. Then when he finished with England he got rid of the tunnell vision and developed a really good attacking, passing, offload game with Quins that we only wish we hadve seen more of with England. But some of his performances when he left were garbage, there was more than enough sufficient evidence for posters to make the claims that they did. But if this is the level he is still at,and he can perform consistently then sign him up for another year! Im still dining out on the same humble pie :smt005
